Good time, you don't see many S3's on stock turbo's dip into the 13's, so you're doing well already.

Never run mine up the strip before, and probably won't, launches break things, and I break enough things already without having to break more on the strip!

Agreed.

I was messing about last week down a country lane and did 1/4 mile in 14.02 sec at pretty much full tilt.

Because as it wasn't a track I was bouncing all the way along the road.
Imagine I'd be quicker on a flat track but, again, launches Kill cars and my set up is fast road with smooth torque delivery coming in later than normal.

I imagine you'd want it coming in hard and early for this shindig!

Hard and early just makes it harder to launch and just puts more strain on everything especially 4wd. A good launch and then once moving and stopped spinning up then the majority of power comes in. Hard and early just means you`ll be spinning longer failing to use that power. More difficult for me being fwd and then it being mapped that exact way, to get asmuch as possible as early as possible. Peak torque of 220ftlbs at 3k makes for interesting launching on fwd.

can't disagree with that, my old ko3S setup used to produce 290lbft at 3500rpm! The torque curve was just like a mountain, straight up, STRAIGHT down!

LOL dont envy you back then :p Theres only so much care you can take with the throttle to prevent mass spinning and when you have figures like that you`re pretty screwed lol.

yeah vag world do you have flat shift mapped in?

i managed a 13.89
0-60 - 5.19
At GTI inters last year with a not fit for purpose hybrid k04 13's on a standard k04 is QUICK

is this the dane i drove down to santapod with? nuno in the boot?

I`m going :icon_thumright: End of the May is first 1/4mile day near my town, and hoping to go under 14s.

It would be epic if I could hit 13.5 on a stock Turbo, doubt it really, 13.7/8 would be nice, fmic and turn the boost up from 1.1 bar to 1.5 for springfest

How are you launching bud? And do you have a badger 5 80mm TIP?

On stock blower i would be surprised if you hit mid 13s... strip it out and lose some weight maybe a possibility... Best i seen stage 2 mapped s3s are low 14s maybe few dip into 13s

I really hoping to get into 12s this year

I was looking into geting one but as the plan wasn't to stick with the k04 a forge one came up cheap so stuck that one on

COV will be having many more days like this throughout the season

First round of the Pro-street drag series in 3 weeks time at Shakey. Fastest time in each group wins a trophy and takes points into the following rounds. Good to have some more Vags there :)

I was there mate with my poorly yellow S3.. Ran a 15.6 @ 90mph fastest time.

It had a sticking rear brake caliper and it still has a slipping clutch (no fast launches so I bogged down alot) and is more or less standard apart from forge DV and green cotton panel filter. Im getting the clutch and gearbox sorted soon and then I'm letting rip with the mods ;)

Mate
make sure you buy a decent paddle clutch if your using it for the strip, and be prepared to replace it once a year !
5k launches kill clutches mate
my last one lasted 10 months

Today was the day. 14.2s and 100mph. 60ft around 2.5s so the start was very shy.
DMFW has been vibrating few weeks so didn't want to kill that totally. Just wanted to have some numbers (mainly trap speed) so in future I can make some comparsion with new engine (the target will be 115mph).
