Sportback LED Rear Lights (Fitted by itwasntme187)

Looks good there Amit, Oh and i used that link you sent me for the rear number plate lights and they look sweet! just hope they dont blow like all the others have done.

Did mine a few weeks ago....a great improvement on the 'old' style.....a copuple of things to watch out for if you do this mod:-

  • If you use Kufatec loom extenders, make sure you get 'Left' and 'Right' the right way round!
  • The coding will need chanigng but the Kufatec plug-in coding module does work
  • Before you put the lights back into position, it is worth wrapping the connections with Halfords' Self-Amalgamating rubber tape to protect against water ingress

Just ordered mine off a company called jmb retrofit.........
Gonna get a few things coded while am there.....

Can't wait for mine to be fitted, gonna get a few extra's coded while am there like ch/lh lights etc

any of you guys that want things like this done just pm me... this is just one of the things that i install on the A3s.
surprised that this thread is still going though

Maybe a stupid question, but I assume one would need to buy the wiring for them? :)

Bought my rear Audi A3 8P LED lights of a guy that was selling spares. Got them for a bargain at £100 for the full set. Was looking around for some time and finally got lucky.
I wanted them fitted like it would have come out the factory. Saw the adaptor looms in ebay for roughly £40 and didnt really like the looks of them.
PM'd Ash187 to get these fitted. Excellent guy and knows what he is doing. He got some custom looms which when fitted looks factory installed. Doesn't take long at all and all professionally installed. After the coding it looks awesome.
Ash187 is recommended.
My 2005 Audi A3 looks excellent. My next step is to have fully installed footwell interior lighting. Cant wait.

Hi Ash187 i see your the man for fitting these facelift led rear lights, i have just bought a full set of genuine audi a3 sportback led rear lights and wanted to know if you could installl em for me plz??

hope to here from u soon.

cheers, jay

My set is on the way from tuning fanatics. Can't wait

Is there a link to the coding for us that can DIY?

Thanks

Are the lights from the German eBay seller still the best ones to get as they seem to still be available?

Is there Anybody is ScotlAnd that can do this mod for me the two top guys on this forum are just a tad far for me to drive ?? I'm looking for a supply and fit or I can buy the lights and hopefully get somebody to install, ash are the looms needed can you not hard wire with wants already there ?

You would need new connectors and a bit of rewiring if you didn't buy the looms... The looms do make it simple to do yourself though.
Im sure there someone up there that can do the coding if you just fitted in the lights and adapters

the German seller now and then goes out of stock and sets the price to something silly like a grand, but when he has them in stock he is the cheapest to get them from. Still not any issues with my lights or any of the guys that I have fitted in the past 3 years

I wondered as I had an email from ebay saying price drop on watched item and right enough he had them 1299 lol. so for the 2006 its just lights adaptors and coding sounds simple enough

Are they genuine? And I'm guessing I will be needing the adaptor loom I have heard about, then try find somebody to code them ... Correct?

They are OEM, not genuine AUDI, but they are the same thing.

Back down in price now people, were £1007 last week! Lol my problem is that I have nobody local that could code them! 😩 lol

I'm desperate for these lights on my car but when I take into account a drive to England and back could cost me £600 anyone in Scotland up for a group install yet ??

Ash did my install about a month ago. Can't stress enough how this mod freshens up the back end! Ash was fantastic, absolute professional and programmed a few other things whilst he was there too :) I've got a few pics. Excuse the dirt.

What year did they start fitting these as standard? I've just ordered a 10 plate black edition and have not seen it in the dark but wondered if it would have these...

Thanks

I fitted and coded mine at the weekend what an improvement love them

Guys, was hoping for some help..

Installed the lights with the adapter loom, all is good except the right outer light which doesn't turn on no matter what i do.

To diagnose the problem i tried :

1. connect it to the left (working) side - won't turn on
2. tried to use the adapter loom from the side that works - doesn't turn on as well
3. here's the kicker - using the working light from left side on the right with either loom also doesn't work.

Coded with VCDS as mentioned in a few posts over here.

I am really lost.

here's a picture of how it looks right now..
