Hello all!

Took the S3 to Santa Pod yesterday and ran a 15.6 @ 90mph... Not too bad to say it's standard! :D I did have a couple of problems however... If I gave it too much gas and clutch pop, the clutch slipped it's t*tties off, not enough gas, and it bogged down and bounced like it was being fuelled with old mattress springs! -.-

Before anyone says "change your clutch then" I have a new clutch, reconditioned gearbox and DMF in the pipeline! ;) lol It's just finding time and additional funds to do it! :p

Anyway!!! Did anyone else go? I saw a few other A3 and S3s knocking around :)

I had a great time there and if anyone hasn't tried the quarter mile yet then I seriously recommend it! The adrenaline rush is unbelievable!

That's it really... :p

Cheers :)
Ben

I've got one video on my facebook and a couple on my phone, I'll get them up somewhere you can all see them soon ;)

I went as wel mate, has your car got tinted rear lights?,i was'nt in my car,nt ready yet,was a good day, alot of crap mixed in though!

I was there too.
I saw your runs on the strip.
I took an 8P TDI A3 this time.
Was it your car that was up against a ford focus RS?
LCR front spliter?
I also got what we call "Pod burn "

I had an mk4 GTi AGU run a 12.0s @ 122mph...lol I got some catching up to do this summer...

Did anyone get a video of the white R-Tech kadet on the strip?

catching up?!! you're running 12's for christ sake lol

its never appealed to me the drag scene. unless its a machine that really is spectacular and its sole purpose is drag, i dont see the point. i can nail it onto my dual carriageway if i really want that rush

Especialy the first stint of dual carriageway before the first roundabout heading towards Preston.... after sitting behind some old lady holding up a cue of traffic... Had some fun the other day when this happened

My friend I work with was there but in his nova (I know bit of a chav mobil lol but he's got 3 vags) and spun a bearing on his fresh built engine for this season on his first run and was gutted as you imagine but it was all down to his new dry sump pump being assembled wrong in the factory :(

I will be joining him later this year for a meet or 2 and may give mine a run or 2 although won't be beating his Na nova as he's down to mid 12s and won his class twice out of the last 3 years at USC ;)

Anything doing spectacular times? and did you get pod face.....:)....(sunburn)

There were a couple of 12 second novas haha loads of fast things though... Yes I did get pod face... With goggle outlines -.- lol

Yes that was me too :p Not got an LCR splitter though... Got a very broken drivers wing mirror thanks to some dithering old bast*rd in a rover  lol yeah pod face is a bit sore today :p how long did it take you to get out at the end? Took us 4 hours -.-

Good on you for trying it. Shame about the issues. Would have still thought the S3 would have managed a better time. My A4 1.8t 150bhp before mapping did a 15.9 at Shakey and even a not so healty S3 should be 0.3 quicker lol.

Going back to Shakey on the 22nd April if anyone fancies it.

Someone went up the strip in a standard ka and got 20.11 secs, thats stupid!

I went up on a old garage courtesy VAN. 1.7 Diesel Vauxhall

They shafted my mate for labour on and engine fitting - so we run it down the strip and blew it's head gasket.

I went in my RS, thought about doing some runs and thought better of it lol.

Thought as shows go it was pretty poop, no way near as good as inters, it was full of chavs (bite me plan b) and minging girls in crop tops with their bellys hanging out sitting on cars (is that a microfibre dress? no? then get the f##k off the bonnet) AND the worst show and shine I have ever seen apart from a nice little polo.

I saw you in your motor though benjiman, looked good.

Well with the bogging down at the start I was easilly loosing 0.5 of a second.. Plus I had my mrs in the car with me so im guessing another 0.2 or so... So I was happy to get a 15.6 haha

The faster of the 15.6 times was when the clutch slipped its tits off :D

Going to get a new clutch and possibly get a new SMF.. Less comfort yes... but less to go wrong :)

Dane I totaly agree, not the best show, lol, seen two kid's checking car doors trying there luck, then they saw me n tryed pretending to take a picture!,lovely

Yeah think it was pretty stupid of pod to allow passengers. Makes it more like crail in Scotland and that is poor and chavvy.

Anyway yeah should be much better with a good clutch.

White Nova?? I've seen that thing run...sounds epic and goes very well! A mate of mine, used to run the isaac hunt nova up pod about 8 years ago and that run 11.3 at best :)

Greyish body with white bonnet looks like a tip but that's the best bit about it ;)
He's managed to get it to 250bhp which isn't to bad for Na 2.0 weighing next to nothing was aiming for 270/280 on his new piston rod and cam setup but all went wrong on the first outing when was still running it in a bit after first mapping session

I'll see if I can find a YouTube video as know there's a few on there :)
