Went to see an RS3 in Audi Swindon yesterday which has just come in. Audi contacted me a few months back to say they had one was I interested, YES! But I didn't put deposit down as it was red with "those" wheels, so I wanted to see it first, I did and must admit stunning, but just not into red cars especially with red bling alloys. So going to hold out for a daytona grey with alloy pack. But for anyone who has not seen one yet, lovely looking bit of kit.

Everyone's always moaned the rs3 isn't "different enough" well the Audi bosses have a few rs3 exclusives that look very bright, not to everyone's taste, but at least they can't be confused with a rep-mobile...

I prefer the TT RS as that does look different to the rest of the range. I saw a Black RS3 on Satyrday and thought it was an S3 at first glance. There was so much Audi could of done with the RS3 but instead they chose to go mad with the wheel colour choice! It's a shame because it looks like the TT RS+ hasn't escaped the wheel brigade either!

Im must've woken up on the wrong side of the bed, 'cos I'm getting kinda sick of that point of view..! No disrespect intended but jeez:motz:This seems to be all I hear - its not special, it doesn't look different to the s3.. Boo fricking hoo. The s3 is only slightly different to the a3 in looks.. You could argue this all the way back to the rs2 model..I don't personally like the rs2 Porsche wheels, but I wouldnt have anything else on that car! I bet you most Audi drivers couldn't tell an rs2 from an 80 avant anyway! Does that make it less special?

But for me it's not just about the looks. I like the a3, I think the interior is lovely, and I accept that Audi have produced an rs badged car that has been engineered within a budget based around its clearly brilliant engine/gearbox combo. If you want something that looks like the Saturday boy from halfrauds has been let loose with the silly spoilers, you should be looking for cars on Barry boys.
Personally I prefer a car that shouts with its performance, not its bonnet vents and 80's arches.. They were from the 80's and they looked great along with the whale tails, but on a new car? Really?
if the car looked like half you guys seem to want it to, it would've probably cost even more, and considering the price is already a hot topic for whiners, I don't see what more Audi can do!
If the wheels have already upset sooo many people, Audi would've clearly been off their rockers to risk any more daring styling cues...
Dont worry, I have my Audi fire extinguisher ready for the flaming!

I agree with you Quattro I love the fact the RS3 is not in your face thats is why I interested in it, I think if they had made it all fat boy wide with a "look at me" wing on the back etc I would not of even looked at one. But with me it is all down to personal taste and I just don't like the all red look, even the wing mirrors were red so it really did just look like a normal SB. I love the daytona with the alu pack. I must admit getting up close to one the detail on the front brakes is amazing. Defo getting one, just waiting for the right one.
The red one above looks nice though as it has the alu pack, but the one I looked at didn't have any of that detail and when spending £40k on something I want it spot on.
 
No flaming nessessary Quattro, it's different opinions that makes forum interesting!
 
I do like the RS 3 but can't afford one as I spend all my spare cash on the S3!
 
Just got back in from my local Audi (east Kent) where they had a customer's Daytona rs3... Gotta say I was very underwhelmed - didn't even notice it was the RS to start off with and went straight past it! I'm 100% convinced on the black optics pack over the alu now too - this one had the alu, and the front side bits (where the fogs normally go) are black with the centre part of the grille in silver.. It just looked all mismatched and wrong to me, but like you say, all just personal opinion. The brakes do look very nice, but I'm gonna stick with my red/black wheels to go with them! Such a lonnnnnnnnnnnng wait though :sadlike:
 
AUDI should have given it some wider arches much like the RS4 to give a much needed pumped up stance to keep up with BMW's monster 1M. No doubt it's a nice car, but for a not a lot of money you can make a lookalike from a 7 year old £7k Sportback.

The wheels really don't help....on a similar note....

My local dealer had an RS4 in a while back,in electric blue.

Loads of people came in,lots tried it,and none bought it.

"Lookalike" being the key word here, -none of the performance being the same! And it's not the pumped up stance that makes a car fast, it's the engine and gearbox, which incidentally gives better performance stats than the 1M... I'm not buying one to be a poser, I'm buying it to go faaast :racer:
 
Just to say the rs3 is very fast , I've had mine couple of weeks and not really give it the beans but other day I upset a Merc cls 350 only because he was just taking libertys on the road with everyone

and for some reason im pottering along on the m25 in f/lane and go past 2 focus Rs in lane 1&2 in convoy and for some reason lol next thing I know I've got a green gremlin focus up me bottle so gave it beans and left him then he finally caught up and wanted it again and again the focus got hurt with ease, It seems alot faster than my 2011 m3 I just got rid of , and forgot to say when I got home I noticed that I didn't even have it in s mode gear I only had the s button on lol

SEPTEMBER ouch!!!! You must be one patient man. Come into work to see an email from Audi, do I want it, it could be mine by the end of the week..... so tempted. Though in fairness I am also paying for my wedding which is costing about as much as an RS3, could of bought the thing out right!! Sticks have you pics of yours? Would like to hear a little more about the drive of it, I love it because it is so sleeper looking, people in the know, know exactly what it is and respect that and even want to have a little play to see how quick they are, like those Focus boys.

Here's the Daytona... Looks very nice up close (and sounds loverly, even on stock exhaust) quite a difference in sound with "s" button pressed... This satisfies the sleeper version! Lol

Not a sleeper at all. But also £150,000 secondhand with just over 3 k miles on it... Seats were EPIC, sorry no pics of interior, I was overwhelmed! The sad git had brought it back if favour of the spyder, because as he put it "why have such an expensive car when no one can see you driving it".. What a complete tool!
Now all I have to do is remember where I hid that 150k and it'll be mine :think::eyebrows:

This is the one I went to look at, it really is growing on me, especially the rear view looks very nice. And Quattro I have to agree with you the red alloys do work.

Darn it link not working, but go to Audi used and its in Swindon, its not used btw it only actually had 28 miles on the clock!

Sticks :hubbahubba: that is one good looking bit of kit. Quattro that be her, what do you think, went down there this evening so they could over look mine, said it was prime for them to stick on their forecourt which was good. They said if I want it it will have to done this week so I can collect this friday, so they can get it into the March figures, so tonight I just have to talk the missus round!!!

Cheers buddy, All I can say is if you've got the funds it's well worth it m8y ,
I know of another red one at Southend Audi if you give them a call ask for mark in sales tell him jay who bought the black one told youto call I'm sure he will do you a good deal , not sure but think they were getting another black one too,

I think it looks wicked! Shame no buckets, but the resale on that should be really good.. I'm sorely tempted myself mate!:wub: I think you should go for it.. I'll be your yes man - just blame it all on me when you talk to your mrs (tell her a bloke on the forum called you chicken or something lol).. I don't mind taking the rap geez if it means you get an rs3 out of it:icon_thumright:

Looks very nice mate:o.k: loving the phantom! I've got it on my11 a3, just soo much of a pita to keep clean for me! Looks evil when it is though.. Black cars are my Achilles heel, but it does look very cool...
 
oh...that daytona looks sweet!! it needs optics grille but it's nice even with alu pack!! would love one one day. or at least 2.5t engine donor :D

Cheers for you comments on me car guys, I know exactly what you mean about black cars and cleaning and cleaning and cleaning lol on my last black car I used colourfast black wax every time after a car wash and seemed like a Days work to get it right but when it's right it right!
I went for black as my last car was a Hollywood white m3 and I could feel the hate from others on the road I.e no one letting you go cutting you up and every 1.2l corsa racing me, so back to black it is and now its stealthlike driving.
I didn't spec my car it was a cancelled order so no say in the matter about buckets but I think not havin them is better Imo if your using it as a daily as I've heard the buckets have no mercy and can give you Gbh of the the legs getting in and out but on the flip side yer buckets do look the part in the car and I think Audi should have put them in as standard for the limited Rs car,Apart from that its got all the extras as I'd of spec'ed

Those brakes were enormous..and the anodised finish was sweeeet - Pics just don't do justice... I think I got some sort of alcantara based brain overload when they opened the door, cos I just dropped my camera (and consequently didn't take any interior pics) and stared with my mouth open... Lol

I hear what you're saying, but I managed to get my local Audi to get hold of a sepang blue s3 with buckets so I could have a go getting in and out with them.. Such a nice colour :wub: worthy of a couple pics I guess..?

I should probably point out that I'm paraplegic at this point to avoid any confusion?! I transfer in and out using just my arms.... I found that there's really not much difference between the height of the seat base bolsters from the sline seats to the buckets. If I can do it, it can't be that bad? I personally wanted the buckets, but the s line maybe a better option from the posture point of view, particularly with the electric lumbar support that I have in my current A3.. However I have the privilege of another car as my daily drive, so the rs3 buckets were just something I had to have - otherwise I would've probably got one of the RS3's already in the UK. It means a long wait, but they'll look awesome and might even stop me falling into the passenger seat whilst roundabout surfing.. I find it hilarious, but the mrs is not such a big fan:lmfao:
