I've just ordered a forge TIP and want to install a catch tank before I plumb nasty oil vapours into my new TIP.
I'm just wondering who's tried them as I know some have but they all seem to be the expensive ones. Has anyone gone cheap and found it to be ok? Also, anyone had problems with these or with venting to atmosphere as ideally I don't want to put it back to the TIP at all, I'd rather vent to atmosphere.

Any thoughts?

The cheap ones are ****, i thought mine was ok, fitted a toyosports one and vented it to rear of the car, cabin always smelt and it filled up with condesation like a mother f***a, cabin always stunk, fitted the dearier one, forgot name, the one from the group buys, smells gone and im waiting to see what the contents is like.

I've seen the group buys one, there very dear on their own though, £70 ish plus postage plus import tax plus pipe work. You can get the stealth one for about £80 ish

Stealth Oil Catch Can

And these are available in the UK.

The cheapy ones will at least stop the vapours hitting the turbo but I don't fancy that nasty smell

Thats the one, thanks jase.

They are dear mate but put it this way, ive had 2 toyosports ones noe due to leakages, etc and as they say you pay for what you get, for the sake of £20 i could have bought the above first time round.

The forge kit is a nice piece of kit but god its a rip off

Yeah I see what you mean, plus all £20 cans come with 15mm ports not 19mm.

You can just sleave the 15mm ports upto 19mm with some silicone mate.

It is though jase, over £200 for a catch can, haha, no im sorry, yes it does the job but for around a £100 less you could have the above catch can plus oil high end oil resistant piping.
So thats a extra ton to spend on whatever :).

Dan the Forge one does look a darn site better though ?

No doubt mate it looks a nice little set up but is it really worth over a ton extra? I love my setup up, black can next to the battery, nice and suttle.
End of the day ita each to their own.

hi guys, has anyone got any fitting instructions for this as i wouldnt know where to start and its something i am looking at doing sometime soon.

cheers

My cheap one is fine, You need to put brillo pads inside of them to act as a baffle, else the vapours just come straight out of the vents

i have a cheap one £20 ebay job venting back into tip an never had a problem

I installed the Saikomichi catch can as part of the AS.net group buy a year or so ago. Great bit of kit.
