Cant help thinking that when i boot my car im going to do damage to it but cant help putting my foot down just to here the turbo whistle... im also going to get it remapped soon and hope the engine and running gear can sustane the abuse i give it... any one else think like me ?

You bought the right car FWIW.

Remap it.

The clutch will poo itself though.

Enjoy

are the clutches weak on the 09 s3s.. i had a astra vxr b4 this, and had that remapped and never had one bit of trouble with it in 23000 miles... was 274 bhp with 330 torqs !

The stock clutch is made of cheese.

Above Stg1 it will almost always fail and the Sachs organic plus LUK DMF will take you up to over 400lbs if you look after it.

The engine overall is tough and good for about 440bhp without internal mods like pistons and rods but above that you need a LOT of work.

Either way,you do need to service it far more often if you expect it to last on uprated power.
Mine has run over 440bhp reliably for over 20 000 miles now.

the clutch flywheel will manage stage 1, anything more some issues can arise.

Not for long though.
My last S3 clutch only managed 10K on REVO Stage 1, and that was with light use.
Quite a few members here have had similar experiences with Stage 1 too.
Although, on or two have managed Stage 2 with the stock set up so it would seem these clutch/DMF are not only weak, but inconsistent.

It depends how the car is setup rather than the consistancy of the clutch/dmf.

Aggresive setups will usually have a more adverse affect on the clutch than if you have a smooth delivery. this is not the only contributing factor, as you said, it depends on how the car is driven also.

If you treat the engine and drivetrain aggressively then you will have problems but overall,it's a strong package, capable of running over 500bhp and 500+lbs safely.

You may well get issues with gearbox and transfer case wear at higher levels, like I've had but it's not unmanageable.

So no standing quarters at Gti International then:)

if you map an S3 stage 1 you will HAVE to change the clutch. End of!! Maybe not straight away but it will happen.

I'd happily do a 30-130 like most others seem to be doing, but obviously not at the Inters.

I'm just going for the cars and chat.
