I'm with Bloblob on this one......they just disappear into the grille now....you may as well just take them off.

I know loads of guys like this 'stealth' all black look, but it's not for me.......but who cares....it's not my car it's yours....as long as you like it, then the jobs a goodun ! :icon_thumright:

I normally don't like seeing black rings on the front grille for same the reasons the guys already mentioned, but have to say IMO that against the red paint, it looks REALLY cool! I like it, ..lots! xx

Does look a bit lost to the untrained eye, but to us lot who spot these tiny mods a mile away looks ok.

I'd like to keep the chrome rings up front but go black on the rear, as I think it would look good against my Ibis paint.

Not keen, but as said already - if you're happy with it; good times!

here is a copy of the rear ones in black, just cant do chrome :blownose:

had these done as a vinyl sticker, only because my OCD got in the way (cleaning inbetween the rings)

That's what I did, Fella, kept chrome on the front end and went black on the back. Black rings will look amazing against your Ibis paintwork! xx

I'm a bit OCD too, so I bought a set of Dodo Juice Supernatural detailing sticks to clean round my black rear rings and other badges. They do the job a treat. I wouldn't have thought about popping a vinyl decal on the tailgate in place of the ring badge, but if you're happy with how it looks then that's all that counts. The main thing is if it allows your OCD to settle down, then it's gotta be a bonus, lol. xx

It's one of those "I can see where you were going with it, but it just doesn't quite work" mods for me. My brother has it on his Corsa, and there's a Black Edition near me with the same, and I just think it looks like the badge has fallen off from anything more than a few feet away.

Have you thought about red on the front? White doesn't quite work, IMO, but the red might be just dark enough to pull it off.

Argghh, my friggin fingers!!!

Well the rear gloss rings arrived while I was away this week so decided i'd get them on the boot this afternoon.

I taped up a masking box around the old rings to retain the correct position on the boot lid and set about with a length of 14lb fishing line to slice the OEM chrome rings.

After nearly cutting through my digits with the line I decided to use my finger nails to remove the rings. The adhesive tape Audi use is so strong I thought the paint would give up and come off instead, closely followed by my finger nails!!!

So with the rings off, sadly in two pieces I set about removing the stubborn residue.

I nearly nearly left them off but I love the brand and feel proud to drive an Audi so want to let my following road users know LOL

With a filthy car I hadn't taken a photo and by the time it was white again it was too dark. But weather permitting I will show my lovely gloss black rings shortly.

Gloss black & red S-Line wing badges zipping over the pond as we speak.

Hi, really like the look of the black rings on the grill. Just wondering how you went about removing the chrome o[SUB][/SUB]nes? Cheers.

To this... The rings are gloss and 3D and not a sticker, its just a dull rainy old day so don't look their best - always is when i've washed it! The rings are about half a centimetre smaller than the OEM rings.

hi the front badge you just need to carfully ease it off four top corners :)
