hi all,i am at the next stage of my k03s upgrade, i have just bought a FMIC core only for now, and was wondering if anyone had the exact parts i need for a custom fit rather than buying a fitting kit then having to chop to make it fit correctly!! or is there a proper kit that will fit well on an agu a3??
thanks for any info guys!

no FMIC will go on without considerable chopping of the bumper and under trays mate, they're not made with one, so you need to cut stuff up to get it on there.

The forge kit fits with minimal trimming, but costs a fortune and I don't really think it's that great.

You can go down teh custom route and make up your own pipes, or get the pipes from the turbo revs kit which fit fairly well, but will be visable.

Check out page 9 of the FMIC thread for a little write up I did on custom pipe routes on an A3

i was thinking more of the custom pipe route, just wondered if anyone had an exact list of what they bought???
but cheers for the info prawn!

You can get a eBay cooler to fit hudden behind the bumper. But is imagine you haveto angle grind most of it off. I got one fitted and my bumper is butchered. I'm going to buy another bumper and try get cut it properly so its more subtle.

As stated all the information is in the sticky. There is no right and wrong way to do it, you need to join the turbo to the FMIC and the FMIC to the throttle body.

If you want custom then that would indicate that you want some kind of one off, in which case I doubt anyone has a "list"

If your going custom. I think prawn advised using 90 degree bends as its more neat and sits better

What core did you go for?
I have just bought my complete custom pipe setup based on prawns list.
All you need to consider is the diameter of the core pipes to determine what reducers is required

i bought a large ASH fab core, with 76mm inlet and outlet.
i did read up on prawns sticky, but i did notice that he said the hotside might need to be a little longer as our k03s turbo sits lower than his k04 does, so just wondering if i need an extra pipe to make it fit!!!

I think you'll need a 51mm to 76mm reducer to fit a ko3s. I would have though 3 inchesinlet and outlet on the intercooler would be too big and cause pressure drop?

Well done getting the fmic mate I will try and find my receipt from ash silicon hoses which had all the pipes I needed the whole lot with clamps cost me £113 a real bargin and pipes where not cheap and nasty but fantastic quality

Here's a pic of the pipes I used the large metal pipe was used to be cut to form joined parts for the pipes but forgot they where not braided on the edges so bought a new set made to order mate but it's a easy fit once u have mocked up the pipes right and got bumper to fit ok

I made a custom one on my golf... used my eyes to eye up fitting it, founted it below crash bar with 2 90 degree bends (Actually i think it was a 135 and a 45) to join a long straight connector making both tank ends on drivers side.. (much like the forge :D) its a Ryanreplica - It worked... and It got a great 232BHP at Rtech with just ko3s Decat catback and Custom FMIC ;)

Does this mean i can patent this like the wellycooler? haha

i am reducing all the pipe work to 63mm which is 2.5inch i think, only the core is going to be 76mm!!! just there in case i decide to go bigger... k04 or k03s hybrid in the future, it means i wont have to change anything!! going to try make my hot side pipe work fit like prawns too...... i like seeing it in the engin bay!! lol
