Astra VXR vs S3

Agree with most comments on here but, for what it's worth as all of this is subjective at best, a standard S3 would struggle against an Astra VXR.

Even when mapped, with it's weight, would make most think think.

However, the only Astra VXR's i see these days tend to be in the rear view mirror. And agreed, they do look nice even from that perspective.

His fiance lived 10 ish doors down from me. Coming up the main road he over took me on a blind corner, and nearly killed himself and his fiance ( my girlfriend now) in the process. I had to lock up so he could swing back in.

Whats with the hate for the KO3s TQS anyway>?

Baring in mind that there is not a lot AT ALL different to the S3 apart from some cosmetic crap on the sides and a load of S3 badges.

I couldnt honestly say what "stage" if any thomas is - but its quick - and has A LOT of torque in 3rd and 4th.

I raced my mate in his standard VXR (on a closed road obviously ) and off the line, I hammered him upto 60mph, after that though he started reeling me in lol the 4wd really does make a difference though! (and my friends lack of talent...)

Seeing as my last car I sold in January was a Astra VXR I thought id share my experience. I never had a s3 get away from me. On the 'A' roads i had to work alot harder. The vxr's engine always had power in whatever gear you found yourself in, and it would boost from about 2300rpm upwards. Its was far better in the corners than my current B8 A4 sline, and the sline is a great car to drive. The only reason I sold it was I really needed a 5 door and its price was taking a massive hit with the upcoming vxr, and I always wanted to get back into an audi. Another factor was almost every set of lights id have some muppet trying to race me. Really no need for it during rush hour traffic??

I had it from new. I would have another.

And my more grown up choice.

I drove my mates one today and it didn't feel that fast the front wheels kept spinning when changing gear its completely standard but the exhaust sounds good, Oh and my mate who owns the vectra thinks my car is faster and iv only got a B5 TIP is he right or is his car just underpowered?

In all honesty mate, I think there's something wrong with his car then. The Vec VXRs are seriously fast, the chassis and suspension isn't up to the job at all, but in a straight line they are mental. Is his a 255 or a 280bhp?

Its a 2009 not sure about the BHP its first MOT is tomorrow tho I pushed the sport button and it felt a bit faster he's left it at my house so ill take it out and have a few runs in it
