Loud Fan!!

Well I've read the noise is the fan but dayumn it is loud, like MEGA loud!!! Sounds like a jet starting up and stopping!!! Why is it so loud and can I make it quieter or something? Can be quite embarrassing although i do LOVE the noise when it kinda stops haha.
Someone referred to my car as a harrier jump jet due to the noise today so think it might be a tad too loud.

Are you talking about the fan/jet like noise on cold start up?

That would be the SAI pump doing it's thing for emmissions then.

The plastic riverts will have failed so there's a gap in the casing, common problem happened on my old 1.8t, you need to remove it drill the riverts out and use nuts and bolts to pull it back together makes it alot quieter

Got round to doing the repair that MARCOS posted and err it had already been done!!! DAMNIT!!! So this is how it's meant to be then LOUD AS F*&K

if its not the actual housing for this pump, what else could it be???
