Looks clean - How many head gaskets did it take before you decided to do the engine conversion? :sly:

The original engine never failed on anything and never suffered head gasket failure. I was second owner from new and got it with 7000 miles on the clock. Just goes to show that as long as you look after your car, your car will look after you! I just craved more power, the 1.4 16v K series i modified to 120bhp wasn't enough anymore so i converted it to 2.0 turbo. Although, it whipped a few Mini Cooper S's as the nippy little 1.4 it was haha. It also gave a few high powered VAG's a run for their money as a 2.0 turbo too ;)

Nice,I'm not a fan but I do like the turbo conversions. What what it running

When you put it like that then your dash is bang on the money compared to this. Check out them carpets. What on earth was Rover thinking ! no wonder they nearly went to the wall.

Yeah, the interiors weren't the best from Rover. Although they did improve between 2001-2005 on the MG range. The MG seats are actually nice sports seats. Mine were alcantara suede and half leather, probably something you see in more desirable cars like m sport BMW's and ive seen a couple of S3's with alcantara too.

It was running 250bhp @ 12 psi in the end. That sort of power in one of those is quite scary due to them being alot lighter than modern cars today with all the onboard electrics etc. It weighed just less than a tonne! What i liked most about it is the fact it was so simplistic. No fancy toys, just a raw powered car that gave great road feedback, was like a little go kart. When through tyres quite quickly though haha

haha me and my mate had one if these but a 4 door same engine conversion it was the worst handleing car we ever had and it was on R888s lol something would break every week on it fun though your looks alot tidier

I quite liked the MG series of Rovers, yes they we're a bit chavvy to some, but it was the best cars you could buy if you really wanted a Rover! This is a good example, and with the power to match it's looks. I bet you caught a few people out with that! :racer:
