Golf mk4 gti owners

Wasnt quite sure if this should go in the rant section but never the less i need this off my chest lol

So im with a mate haveing his bmw m.o.t d when i notice the guy working there has a mk4 gti with a fmic, so i start chatting about his plans for the car and what bhp he wants, turns out he thinks hel get 500bhp from his fmic, down pipe,tip and s3 injectors all running on his AGU with a ko3s.

I tried to tell him that hell never get 500bhp and would be lucky to see the best side of 230-240bhp.

That didnt go down well lol i think he must be medicated due to his dillusions of power lol are all mk4 owners like this lol?

No not all mk4 owners are like that.were not all high on crack. I got a mk4 gti and doubt you get 240 with all mods, I may be the only realistic one lol. I remember u was at a car meet in Essex and there was a guy with a black mk4, ko3 ,fmic, hks and said its a stage 1 at 200 bhp. Apparently its eats mapped vxr for fun and will be running 280 on a stage 2.....

Trust me I checked everything under his engine bay and all the tell tell signs of a ko3 was there. He actually had be cracking up as I walked away .

No sorry to disappoint, I still own a golf, never had a audi, just came on her for a little normality.neede to get away from scene point veterans! And no I don't use drugs, but it works well with a v power and redex....

Thats quite optimistic really.

I had a 1.8T mk4 GTI AGU, and I was running similar mods. Although I had twin SMIC, k03s, SFS TIP, Full turbo back Miltek, Bosch green tops (S3 injectors wont fit a AGU, so he is humped there), Green cotton panel, drilled airbox, Dastek engine management, and was running 240 BHP and 280 lbft. The turbo was JUST hanging on in there at that. Don't think the k03s will do any more than that.

Sacraledge lol but i suppose beauty is in the eye of the beer holder.

Never fancied a mk4 gti tbf, nice all round car, but when its a toss up between a A3 nd Mk4 the A3 has to pinch it(with leathers ovcourse) standard trim is gash in the A3.

One thing i hate about the mk4 is the water stains on the back bumper/lip, always looks like a tramps took a wizz up it lol

I still love the looks of a sorted mk4, i have had a couple, they do feel tinny compared to the audi, but i think a mk4 looks better than an 8l a3, you will get idiots from every marque esp when they come down to pocket money prices....IMO

The A3(with leathers lol) does just pinch it for me. They are the same car but the gti is square and the a3 is round :/ lol

And i think a sorted A3 looks just as good as a sorted mk4 lol

I think its a matter of preference really as u. An essentially have the same performance in a golf, a3 it Leon. I think the golf looks best obviously but I think the Audi is more of a sensible car, not as much stupid items for sale as there is for the golf

Looks tidy mate. And yup iv had a leon cupra and drove a few mk4 gtis and still prefer my A3. not saying i would never have a mk4 as iv always liked the aniversary, when i was looking it was about 4k for one

all my old golf gti had was stainless steel exhaust system and remap and was at 209 and can get proof of that if no one belives it, says it was running 158 as standard were as theyre ment to be 150 so must of just got a lucky engine

Thats is perfectly possible with the AUM engine as it has the k03s turbo as standard, black s3. The AGU engines with the k03 turbo would only ever map to about 195 BHP, whereas the AUM/AUQ with the k03s were stated as mapping to 212 BHP with just a map. So factoring in the dyno lottery, 158 / 209 BHP pre / post map sounds reasonable.
