To disable, I just push the button and ESP light comes on permanently on the dash.

hold for a few seconds and as above it will light up in the dash yellow

 so , if the green light is on and the dash display comes on then that means it's off, ?? or on

what green light ?
did you get a book with the car it explains it all in that
when u press and hold for a few seconds the yellow light on the dash will light up
this means the ESP is OFF

On a B6 (mine at least) there is no need to press and hold, a simple press will suffice.

2 secs press for all 3 i got at min

Men dont read Manuals LOl, so I have been driving round since I got the car in December with the ESP on !! , :asskicking:

when you turn the esp off and you get the light on the dash
you will have to press it again when you restart the car it auto turns on next time u start up
i never turn it of on standard cars only when they been mapped or in snow

God this thread is like one of those conversations you have with an old relative. Seems quite simple, or is it just me...

Don't understand! Say again? Lol

Whilst cupping your ear in an attempt to hear better! :nyah:

well looks like my ESP doesnt work cuz i cnt get any lights on ;/

I had this on mine. I found some kind gent had put black silicone over the LED.

As above with James, BlackQuat, a3tdi2001, some dodgy people out there, couldv'e been fettled to hide a fault, get it plugged in and find out what's gone on I guess..... I've heard of people doing this with ABS and brake warning lights before, more than a bit irresponsible, ****** people.

Until then a lot of speculation. VCDS / VAGCOM
