Thanks guys, I'm getting pretty excited about them, I have to say! Tonight I confirmed with N8 that I would like them done in lacquered gunmetal with satin black MTM logos. Can't wait! xx

Be sure to give us a teaser, we'll be disappointed otherwise

they will look epic in that colour paulie can't wait

ch, Poli! Absolutely love your S3 and everything you've done to it, too! Yeah, I'm seriously considering the Forge BBK. I totally trust the Forge brand and can't personally see them putting their excellent reputation on the line for anything the least bit sub-standard TBH. Think they would do the job perfectly!

I found this pic of the MTM's fitted to a facelift S3, think they look rather sweet! xx

Forged BBK would look sweet behide some MTMs. Your car is gonna look even more serious!
Will you be going to any shows this year paullie?
That S3 looks the business. Can't wait to see some photos once the MTMs are on!
Keep up the good work

Oh bang on Paulie!
They do look just as good on the facelift S3!
Great call, really can't wait to see these even more now.

I agree with your comments about the Forge BBK, it would have to be quality.
It's just considerable cheaper than other BBK's on the market... which makes you question why?

No you don't want a forge BBK, you want Brembo/AP setup. I'm selling some brakes Paula, and someone's offered me TTRS brakes as well today.

Can't argue with the black and silver theme going on there! :o.k:

That car would look even sweeter with your S3 Optic Hybrid Grille on the front, Dan! xx

Ball is rolling :ninja:

Sure is! xx

Aww thank you Ash. So glad to have you back in the ASN fold once again, you were sorely missed for the time you were away! Would like to make it to a show or 2 later in the year, for sure. xx

I saw the amazing R8 brakes you're selling at the moment N8, but I've got some rubber to buy for my MTM's first. Out of interest though, how much approx would I be looking at for the TTRS kit? xx

I know there has been a lot of speculation about the Forge Motorsport BBK and if Forge use rebranded calipers from the likes of K Sport or similar and I found this reply from them on another forum -

"Where are the calipers manufactured?"

"As mentioned above, the kits are produced in-house on our own CNC equipment, and assembled by our own staff at Forge UK.

Not a single component of these kits is shared with any other rebranded kit you may find on the market, like KSport for example. The only parts we do not produce ourselves are obviously the pads which are sourced from EBC, and the rotor discs which are sourced from a foundry that supplies most other high end brake kit manufacturers as well."

No worries  haha thanks  you would of thought I was gone for years only over a month.
But good to know I've been missed! Good good you know what shows your gonna try and make?
When you think your gonna put the MTMs on? Were they another paullie bargain? Lol

This thread was bed time reading for me last night. That's a rather delicious S3 Paullie! Got to say, you've got good taste at modding. Quite liked the VXR too! :o.k:

Of course I'll come see N8 when I need some new stoppers, lol! xx

That's really lovely of you to say, Coz. The VXR was a labour of love for me, I spent almost as much on modding it as I spent on the car itself when I bought it brand new in Oct, 2008. Don't think I would ever have sold it if it wasn't necessary for me to swap over to an Automatic, due to a spinal injury. I swore when buying the S3 thatI wouldn't mod it, ..but then I found ASN and the rest as they say is history! xx
VXR was stunning tbh!

Thanks N8! I'll always have a soft spot for it. Has your bro still got his lovely Corsa VXR? Gorgeous little cars, ..love the new Nurburgring Edition ones with their revised front end, cool alloys, Brembo's, etc. xx

Yes he has, its getting the Shark treatment next month ready for our European road trip in May. Driving to Worthersee in Austria via France, Belguim, Luxembourg, Germany then finally Austria

Great trip N8. Did something similar in 2010 and it was amazing. Landed in Calais, onto Belgium, Lux, Germany (the Ring/Porsche Museum/Mercedes Benz World/Hockenheimring), back into France (Strasbourg, Paris,Versailles, Bolougne). Out on ferry, back on tunnel. A ball. Hope you have a fantastic time mate, you'll love it.

Well they are both very tastefully done! And I'm a picky sod when it comes to cars and how they look! lol As for ASN, not a happy place for the wallet! lol I'm holding my own so far, letting the brain overrule the heart for the time being. When the time is right, I'm letting the heart run wild!

Corsa VXR Nurburgring will be on Top Gear next weekend. Driven by Captain Slow. Should be interesting!

epic idea mate, was discussing something similar with a friend yesterday rather than simply getting s_it faced abroad LOL

I'm not a big drinker brother, hence why this came about, always wanted to do W'See, and road trips are epic, especially driving through europe, such nice roads & sights

Well guys, I took N8's advice and have decided not to go for the Forge BBK after all. If I had seen at least some decent reviews of the Forge set up, I'd have been more than happy to take the plunge as it offers excellent value, when compared to the other available kits for the S3 8P. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find any reviews, so my mind was made up to head in another direction. A mate of my cousin is heavily into cars and he recently offered me a newly refurbished set of R8 rear Brembo 4 pot calipers at a price I couldn't say no to, lol. I was going to have my new brakes done in yellow, until I had a look around the net and IMO yellow calipers look a bit 'insipid' on yellow cars, or at least they did on the examples I found.

Here's an example -

I much prefer the look of RED on yellow, like this -

Here are the calipers in question.

They are physically the same size as TT-RS front calipers, but I believe they are even better in that the pistons are bigger. They came with pins and anti rattle springs and they are really smart. My cousin's mate has made a great job of the total refurb and the quality of the powdercoating is exceptional. I just need to sort out some carriers for them now, as well as some discs and lines (I've already bought some Ferodo pads for them). I have already emailed the Brake Guru, DaveB1970 from MK5GTi and hopefully he'll be able to help me source the bits I need. If anyone else has any knowledge of fitting R8 rear brakes to an S3 8P, I'd be very appreciative of any advice offered.

Thanks for looking! xx

I'm sure Nate's mentioned that Dave currently has one of my calipers for mocking up carriers, so he can probably get you a set sorted too. I mean, he might be busy, but worth getting involved while he's got mine to copy from (or whatever is involved in replicating the design).

Red on yellow will look :hubbahubba:

Aww Martin, that's fab news! Fingers crossed Dave can sort me a set out as well. I was in touch with him today, so we'll see what he says. Thanks very much for that! xx

Yes he is sorting both sets of carriers out, I love "I decided to listen to N8" forum gets better by the day  They have better piston sizes than the TT-RS although, a master cylinder upgrade on the S3 will sort that out, but thats another day and another penny

I will get the rims sorted as well Paula!

Hehe, you are THE man to listen to, N8 and we all know that your advice is the very best there is when it comes to modding. You wouldn't tell me not to buy the Forge kit with no reasoning behind it . Thanks for letting me know Dave's gonna sort a set of carriers out for me too, ..I'll quit emailing him and let him get back to me in that case   xx

Aww cheers, Sweetie. I always thought I'd like yellow ones best, but when I started looking at pics, the red IMO looked better for some reason. xx
