Prawn and BigAls A3 Track Car

please change the rods and shells :)

Then I can have even more POWAH!!!!!!

Just can't believe this is in it's 'turned down' state. N75 DC is at something silly low like 50%, I think Nick was saying that the load scale goes up to 12 I think he said (no idea on units), it's currently set at 6.something to make 291bhp, and at 9.X it's making 330bhp, with scope for even more!

What a machine, cheers for taking me out,

Hopefully ill see you again on tuesday.

Missed your post earlier dude, not a problem at all, I'm happy to take people out in it :) glad you liked it.

Glad yours is going well for you, it made very decent figures! Must be in good health aside from that MAF.

See you tuesday :)

Yeah Im very impressed with it, drives fantastic.. Honestly can't believe it was 128bhp before hand.

I think big Al Prawn brought me some good luck.

BigAl is my Dad :) he's not driven it yet as he's millions of miles away in a dark corner of the country where folk don't go often! he'll get to drive it at Rockingham on march 17th :)

Drove it into work this morning in the wet on full power, what an absolute handful in the rain! Epic fun, although I think I need some lighter boots! Will try actuator pressure only on the way home tonight :)

I need more power now after having a ride in it on saturday :(

Good job all round though, the cornering grip and brakes were astounding, straight line pace was impressive, unrelenting pull without any useless spike of torque.

I can imagine it would be somewhat of a handful in the rain though, given it was spinning up second and a bit of third in the dry in a straight line! :p The diff certainly helps the FWD layout get the power down, and the way it tucks in under throttle on cornering is very impressive.

Whats this....Kev's opinion of FWD seems to have changed slightly :p

Not at all, the car would still without a doubt be better with AWD. It would ofcourse then need a bit more power to match its existing pace, but it would also gain proper independent rear suspension, which would be another plus.

The diff does make a huge difference though. It span most of the way thru second, and a bit of third but unlike an open diff car where once the wheelspin started you'd be round to the limiter with one wheel spinning at maximum speed, the revs just started to float around and it kept pulling as the diff was doing its thing.

I do suspect its very close to the limits of the drivetrain, another 50hp would probably be heading towards it being a "handful" in the dry as well as the wet.

I did say slightly :p I`d love a diff but a grand with labour is waaaay out of my budget especially when i could sell mine and put £1000 ontop and get a better car with better scope for tracking for the future lol.

Thanks kev, kind words :) Glad you liked it!

I know what you mean, it WOULD get the power down with AWD for sure, and it IS a proper handful in the wet, but it's different, and I love it :)

BIGAL here, dont forget it is on standard road tyres and of course new to the driver.

BIGAL HERE,,stealing the thread. I remember not many years ago when it was said amongst auto engineers, ( I believe Saab started it) that 200 hp through the front wheels was maximum and any more was ridiculous to contemplate. And this was a statement without any formal testing, just a theory. My how wrong they all were. Lets see what the future brings.!!!

oh god, he's back! haha.

Thanks Dad :p We'll show them all how good our wrong wheel drive shopping trolley can be!

Now go get your own ****** account and stop stealing mine! You'll get us into trouble.

Suitably told off. I ve only got my own account so that I can put Klappe in his place.

I think Prawn owes us all a proper video, otherwise:asskicking:

Ok ok ok, here's a little clip. Doesn't really show how fast it is because it's just SO Smooth!

And I sped it up to make the car look faster ;)

The Badger5 v2 TIP and Relentless manifold a match made in heaven!!! I have just purchased a k04-023 and relentles manifold for my second Golf mk4 AUM. I will soon be poping over to Bill to give him some £££S and grab another V2 tip from him. Looks like my BT 500bhp Golf will have to wait until the summer now..
