Well today finally fitted my ko3s turbo and neuspeed tip and a big thank u to my mate dan for fitting them! Also had service done with quantum oil and original Audi spark plugs and oil filter, ready for the long journey to Rtech for custom remap on Friday, all I can say is I can the difference in the car already and pulls and accelerates so well I'm still smiling whilst writing this! But have noticed how the car boosts so much more so keeping a eye on my boost gauge and not pushing the car hard, already spoken to Rtech about my concerns as they are 150 miles away from me and was a bit worried driving on the motorway but was reassured and told to take it very easy so look forward to Friday and hopefully have a fantastic drive back home that day !!!

Well done mate! Thats the same route im looking to do... Again being in Kent Rtech is miles away for me... but im sure it will be all worth it in the end...

No such thing exists my dear man, unless that's a name someone with a stage 1 AGU has chosen to give his 185bhp car

AGU and all other FWD are 150hp out the box IIRC... the only A3's to get 180hp were the TQS's (AFAIK)

<tuffty/>

You of all people should know that there was a 150 bhp / and 185 bhp edition of the 1.8tqs -

It will be interesting to see what figures he gets with the mods - hence why im trying to establish if it was the 185 edition or 150.

OOOOOHHHHHH - and on this subject 0 ( as clearly you are the guy to ask) - what changed to make mine the 180 from the 150....

And not all 180 TQS's are KO3s equipped either ... mines an early one and only has a K03 even though it's drive by wire engine code AJQ

so damn confusing! lol. i have been under the impression for years that any 150 is a ko3. oh well

As i said in the other thread about this earlier today:

*ALL* AUM, AUQ, ARX and ARY engines have the same turbocharger, which is known as the K03s.
Doesnt matter if its facelift or not, if it has one of those engine codes, it has a K03s.

The AJQ interestingly enough does NOT have the same turbo as the AGU. The AGU has a K03-011 and the AJQ has a K03-035, the difference however appears to be in the actuator, rather than the compressor/wheels etc.

you're right Kev, difference is in the actuator rating, 65Nm for a 150bhp ko3, 85Nm for a 180bhp ko3.

So much bad info in this thread though :p

Not all TQ's have a ko3S, early ones have a ko3 with a different actuator and map.

All AUM's have a ko3S, and they're all 150bhp. The A3 was never available in 180bhp and FWD. the golf was though.

All TQ's are 180bhp, there was never a 150bhp TQ.

There was never a 185bhp edition TQ or FWD A3.

TQ engines are the same as 150 engines essentially, no uprated fuel pump or injectors or anything like that, turbos like for like (ko3 or ko3S) they all map up exactly the same.

How about port sizes while were at it... :) i was led to beleive when i first started investigating my AJQ engine that it's large port.... i can't confirm this though unlike the turbo.... i think the AJQ was more common it the TT than the A3
