Logs for AMK 2001 S3 Remap

Well I finally got round to flashing my remap file to my car yesterday and am fairly happy with the results for a first attempt however I think I do have an underlying issue somewhere and hopefully some of you may be able to help.

The flash is a basic stage 1 tune with increased fuelling and boost. I am thinking initially the boost map needs altering a bit as it tails off considerably as the revs increase and I would personally like it to hold higher boost pressure further up the revs.

My airflow readings are suggesting 222bhp which seems quite low for a remapped S3 with 3" down pipe and sports cat however compared to the stock map the car feels far more responsive and pulls much more smoothly. Is it possible that I'm just getting a bad reading from the MAF ?

As per our previous conversations, I value your input :) Thanks for that !

Its probably worth pointing out to people that trying out various map combinations like this is VERY risky and that I am fully aware that I am jeopardising my engine by carrying out these tests with home grown map files.

But at the end of the day its a risk worth taking in my opinion and if the worst did come to the worst I would replace my engine if anything did go catastrophically wrong which hopefully it will not :)

Its also nice to be able to post up actual log files of various different maps for people to see what goes on and what you should be looking for when you log your own car.

have you got the xdf file and hardware/software numnber of the ecu it relates to you could send?
interested to see how tuner pro shows its stuff if the definition file is a reliable one?

The xdf above is one I did for Steve last night. It's not complete by any means as I only spent a couple of hours on it to help Steve out. I just defined the Afr,load,timing maps.

If you want to see a complete one ( well enough for stage3 ) , I've just finished one for the BAM 8l0906018cb which has pretty much everything needed. I can forward you that one.

Well, I went to flash the revised map this evening but ended up not doing it because my mate got delayed at work and I need his driveway so I can hook up to a battery charger LOL ! Gutted ! But ill be trying again tomorrow night :)
 
Latest revision of the map flashed and logged below :)

CF's are high so need to adjust the timing. Also I think I would like the demand boost value increased a bit so it holds steady instead of tailing off.

This revision does feel smoother but still isn't quite there yet and is still showing pretty weak airflow readings.

CF's far better, still having some issues though :( Need to investigate deeper as its not making the power it should and I suspect the boost is the issue, my N75 duty seems quite high ?

Well N75 is flat out maintataining the requested, which is mostly being given by the turbo, so at least the turbo is capable of it. I would say that requesting 2500 is a bit ambitous

Yeh as dan said above there was a slight error in the definition. He has now sorted it and I will post up the new logs tomorrow once I have flashed it again :) Looking forward to trying it :)
 
I am back to running the map flased in the first post for now as I seem to have some boost issues that need further investigation. Once I am happy with the boost figures I will re flash the latest revision of this map and see what happens.

Yeh the map rvisions with the high CF's have now been relocated to another folder labelled DO NOT USE lol !

I am starting to wonder if the MAF is faulty myself as it just wont show anything over 180 odds !

I am wondering if this is all related.
 
there isnt anything too serious in that thread. i cant see why nath was concerned about 0.8bar boost when thats what standard should be, and boost tailing off is normal.
airflow for him is still a little low, and even for you playing around with maps, its not much better. that points to the maf imo. but then you need to finalise your map to see whats what then i suppose.

I was was more referring to the low airflow readings than anything else. The map I have on it just now gives the logs in the first post, Good CF's, boost seems not too bad and fuelling is spot on but we believe that the load map is not very good and could be why the airflow reading was so low.


I am going to flash the stock map back on and check everything looks healthy on that before altering the modified maps any further I think. I am a firm believer in making sure the car is as it should be before trying to make changes otherwise you end up just chasing your tail !
