I'm havin them 3 things done this weds finally, really cant wait!! Will i expect very good gains? Revo say i get 300bhp but seen some ppl say they gettin like 310-320bhp... With all sa 3 things done what sort of bhp should i expect?

Thats why i said it depends what you drive, on stg 1 i wouldnt bother with a pump if its a 8p3 S3 if its a 8p2 S3 then maybe. if however its a TD170 you will need more than a pump. :)

i fought i get the pumped ready for stage 2 wen the time comes hopefully very soon,

Ok thanks, figured it would be but not sure. Remap alone should get you up to 310-320, intake and fuel pump are more stage 2 bits. Get yourself an exhaust too and you're set to start slipping the clutch (the reason I'm holding off going stage 2+).

Don't know what map is on my car since it wasn't until I had the car tested that I found out what it was putting out, but intake and exhaust plus some sort of map got 317bhp and 295lb ft. HPFP is sitting unused in my room, waiting to be fitted too, but as it stands there's no rush for that yet.

i will be getting exhaust soon in like another month or so hopefully wen i got abit more spare cash, but them just gona do for now. i think i herd from silky he had just them done and its was ok so i thought i give it a try, i will be going stage 2 eventually

Yeah, it's OK to do, you just won't see the same benefits from an exhaust and intake with just stage 1, and you shouldn't need HPFP until you want to beef up the mid-range for stage 2+. You can do the mods in any order really if you plan on carrying on with the map stages, there's just not much in terms of minimum requirements for S3s until you start looking at long-life reliability and sustained performance (twin-tercoolers, catch cans, uprated injectors etc) that make the higher performance more manageable and less damaging to the car.

i (I) will be getting an exhaust soon in like another month or so hopefully wen (when) i got (have) abit (a bit) more spare cash, but them just gona (those will) do for now. i (I) think i (I) herd (heard) from silky he had just them (those) done and its (it) was ok so i thought i (would) give it a try, i will be going (to) stage 2 eventually

For those that don't understand this is a form of English I think :)

can you be my personal grama/spell checker too please:]. I could of pay you with likes for this service or else:].

The S3's fuel supply is border line in standard trim. If your using a generic stage 1 map it will be written for a std pump and there probably wont be a huge benefit. If your having a tailor written map, make sure (you use a decent tuner and) the tuner knows it has the pump fitted. He should, even with standard exhaust, be able to write something with a healthy increase, although it obviously wont make full use of the pumps potential. Nice thing is its already there for future mods and tunes.

As mentioned above, Keep an eye on the cam follower, the uprated pumps do put a lot of load into the follower and cam lobe so it needs regular inspection.

HTH
Steve.

Your English is excellent .
Despite repeated request people insist on lazy text speak which is banned in the forum rules and in this case the op wants advice but will not tell us what car he drives. The 8p3 has a diffident pump from the 8p2 as i understand it for example. You will not need a pump for stg2, only once you go stg2+.

Hey Paddy, any idea what year/month the uprated pumps were fitted ?

I have an uprated pump awaiting fitting plus Exhaust but have to say my car is running so well without any slip etc just wondering if worth going any further this time around, with the ITG and stage 1 the car feels just right, I know that once I take the next step I need to factor in clutch wear , cam lobe etc, alternatively I could sell my hardware and put the revenue towardsmild suspension upgrades and improving braking performance.
All of these things mentioned are relative to the OP, no point having a rapid caif reliability, handling and braking are going to be an issue ?

Pretty sure its from 8p3 so 2009 on spin. Warren will know for sure. It was something to do with an uprated in tank pump on the 8p3

Loved you itg review mate....think i will need one of those :) its just the hassle with the engine cover that puts me off.

My spelling is worse than your mate :) i just have spell check turned on :) you can download free spell checker for Google chrome or IE etc and it works on these message forms. HTH.

on a serious note though I really consider to do some suspension mods before going stage 2. The car even with stage 1 feels silly fast round the corners and therefore understeers a lot which is scary sometimes. ARBs will go next after induction to sort out body roll then exhaust and stage 2. Really pleased with the gains btw cant wait to actually see some tests done on the new ITG induction kit that Spin140 is testing atm. Hope they wont keep me wating for long or I will drive down there and.:weight_lift2::asskicking:

i have a 08 sportback, and im running 320-330. i have stage two remap and a full millteck sport cat. thats all i have done, the guy at revo said to me that this is with the boost turned down because i don't have the correct hardware (eg ITG and Intercooler), with the stage 2 remap, ITG and Millteck, i was told i would be running at 360bhp, and i think more if i have the intercooler and then thats stage 2 boxed off. unless i go for stage 2 + which is fuel pump and another remap. you'll love it mate, i know someone who has had it done with another company and had it decatted too.... sounds amazing and very torquey

I think the point about suspension is spot on.
I'd also add brakes into that before Stg2+ as the car understeers pretty strongly and will need that sorting out plus the brakes fade fairly easily if you use the stock items.

There's no point in having a car that's quick in a straight line but can't stop or go round corners properly.

I had the brakes, suspension and diff controller on mine done before 2+ and it makes the power you already have much more usable as well as making the car safer and ready for more power if you choose.

i was thinking just doing the anti-roll bar and anti lift kit, would them two things do with steering just on stage 1 or stage 2?

ARBs will certainly reduce roll a bit but if you're getting Stg2+ performance then you should be looking at the suspension and brakes as well.

DaveB1970 is the man for brakes, but suspension covers a wide range of options and kW and Bilstein would seem to be the best choices right now.

As I said,it enables you to get more from what you have as well as improving safety.

Yup. Me too.

Got the coilovers done today. Much firmer, but not too much. Cornering is...wow!

Makes a huge difference to the otherwise squashy handling and with ARBs dials out some of the understeer.

Glad you're enjoying it!

Came back today got all them done and feel the car does doesnt feel much difference in low rev but in high rev it goes alright. Not what i thought it be like.

I'm surprised.

After all the mods on mine, each was noticeable.
May well be down to settings like boost and timing on the mapping.
Did they put the car on the dyno as that would give an idea of what's happening.

Also surprised here. It is subjective, but it transformed the car for me when I went to Stage 1. Did you buy second hand - is it possible it was already mapped?

It is quite often the case that after a remap you build it up so much in your head you think it will be so much quicker that it feels a bit disappointing. Give it a week or 2 and you will start to notice how much quicker it is. Drive it down roads you have been able to properly open it up on previously and you will see what I mean :)

Yes...I think that's true, but I did notice every advance on mine from Stg1 to now...so I think something may be amiss here.

Sorry guys for late reply, i can actually really feel a difference when i'm driving in sports mode or manual, in drive mode i cant for some reason. Low end revs under 3 i dont feel much, but after 4k it really kicks in

Don't think the remap will/does affect the un-boosted performance, and Drive probably shifts pretty early in the boost range. It's once the turbo kicks in at around 2500rpm that power should pick up and you'll notice the difference.
