Hi,

Looking at getting some bbs ch reps for mine.

And want to know what people have got away with fitting size wise.

Currently got et56 7.5j standard 18s on there with 10 and 12mm spacers.

It scrubs at the rear occasionally on very bumpy roads, so don't want to go any wider.

So am I right in thinking the offset with 12mm spacers is et44? And the offset with 10mm is et44?

So ideally as reps are only 8j I need to go around et52? Which I can't seem to find anywhere!

Maybe people have had tyre stretch and got away with different offsets?

Also interested how people have got on with 19s?

Thanks

19" 8.5J with 225/35 and no rubbing so far. Also never had an issue with my standard wheels with 10/12mm spacers on. You're right though, front ET56 with 10mm spacer is ET46, and rear with 12mm is ET44.

Use this to have a play around and see how other widths and offsets will sit on the hub

Mine are 100% ET56, maybe the facelift wheels are 54?

Mine are ET56 too!
I got some new wheels waiting for me in the basement;
VMR V710 Black 19's ET45 8.5J with some new Yokohama S Drive Tyres 225/35/19:jump:
Will see how it go!

Most bbs reps I see on eBay seem to be 18x8j et42 and from these calculators shows it will stick out an extra 10 or so mm over my wheels with spacers on.. Which wouldn't work

Some people get away with a 19x9 ET42, so 18x8 ET42 should be around 12-13mm further clear of the arch and strut (1/2 an inch in on either side). Also, my 8.5 ET48 I have on right now have the exact same outer clearance as 8" ET42 and they don't rub on a 19" 225/35 tyre either so, again, 18x8 ET42 should work fine.

I'm running ET 37 (18x8.5) with a 215/40 tyre out back, no scrubbing. I know a 225/40 tyre just about scrubs as I tried it, so its a close run thing.

Take the screw out that is at the top corner of the rear bumper in the arch, this will help if not already done.

Already done ;)

Thing is finding bbs ch reps with an offset other than 42.

Ideally rather run 225 rather than 215 wide tyres so I can use my current ones

Tbh, I dont see how it ever scrubs with this setup. When I ran at ET45 (8.5" wide wheel) with a 225 tyre, it cleared by 'miles' even slammed on coilovers! Maybe your -camber is lacking!

Agree with you Tim. I had my standard wheels (18x7.5 ET56) with 10mm front and 12mm rear spacers and 225/40 18 tyres, never had an rubbing issues even when 5 up. Not the nicest ride over cobbles, and pretty sure I was grounding the exhaust or something over bumpier bits of road, but no tyre rubbing.

Yes, fine. The only thing I'll say is I'm going on clearances on my car with coilovers, where the camber has gone to -2 degrees on the rear (naturally from lowering). That said, if your not slammed your tyre is probably a mile away from the arch anyway!

I recon I'll be making a purchase tonight then. Got a buyer lined up for my wheels anyway and I can sell the spacers too. If its an issue I'll play with camber ;)

19x9 ET52 with 255...rub...on the strut and stick out by 5mm so spacers wont even fix that:blink:
Looks like the misses will have to keep them on the TT:banghead:

I have a set of OEM VAG BBS alloys with a ET51 offset - they are 7.5J but are still 225 40 18 fitment.

Just about to bung them on fleabay - let me know if your interested and I'll email you some pics.
