Well straight to the point..... I don't want one, if I take it off and block up all the holes will I have any running problems?
Thank u rob

Yes, don't do it.

I am not even going to begin to ask why you don't want one.

/thread surely?

Have u Hurd a car without one?

Yeah I have heard a car without a dump valve. It's not very noisey!

Dump valves are only fitted as after market, but if your on about removing the waste gate, then yeah do it. But don't expect your turbo to last much longer than a bacon roll in front of a fat man! :)

Do you think your car has enough boost to sound like a SWB Audi Quattro?!

It will sound like a goose being raped by an squirrel, IF it makes any noise at all.

Long and short of it is, our turbo's do not have strong enough internals to handle the hundred of compressors stalls it will have to put up with in daily use. It will go pop.

Yeah that recic valve, and I no ppl say things like that and they did with my old 850 t5, but in mine and a loads of other ppl on there found out it don't at the boost levels we run, if I do will it run ok? If the turbo does blow.... I well I will just have to fit my xs manifold and hybrid turbo

removing wastegate?
and dump valves are only aftermarket?

if you're not bothered about it breaking when it does go, then go ahead do it. but just to do it for noise is a bit silly dont you think.
some turbos/cars can handle it, apparently, but not our little cars.

i thought the standard one was quiet enough i hardly ever noticed mine making noise so best to leave it as it is imo or buy a non turbo car then u wont need to worry lol!

It's not the no noise I want it's the wastgate flutter on turbo stool but I didn't know the turbo was so fragile might just have to sell my new hybrid and get a gt28 and external wastgate

it's the wastgate flutter on turbo stool
theres no such thing.
wastegate has nothing to do with it.
its compressor stall, just the compressor wheel trying to spin backwards with the positive pressure left in the charge system.

i doubt anyone on here will advise you to do it on these turbos.

if you want the sound so bad, get a standalone ecu and run the car maf-less and then you could fit an atmospheric dump valve, some are designed to copy the sound of compressor stall. but this would be V expensive just to get a noise lol

This thread is so stupid, as are the suggestions within it. (not you Karl)

Compressor surge(tu tu tu noise) is caused when throttle is shut off and back up of inlet pressure against the impella blades of the cold side, basicly slowing the turbo down, the dump or recirculating valve is used to combat this buy releasing the pressure in the inlet when the throttle is shut and when its the 1.8t it runs a recirculating valve and puts the wasted charge air back into the air stream of the turbo inlet side.

So by removing it makes no sense at all,it could after some some time cause turbo damage...*might*

So leave it be as the manufacture intended.
