My Mauritious Blue S-Line Conversion

Baffles mate, i like the interior LEDs and the Diamond Visions, compliments the Mauritius Blue, alloys and the chrome vents. Very well done, keep it up..!!

The Diamond Vision bulbs really are brilliant aren't they? I fitted mine last week and drove the car at night for the first time since and they look really crisp! They actually make the LED sidelights from Trups look a bit yellow from some angles!

What are those bulbs you have in the rear lights? Polargs? Are they just brighter versions of the originals?

Also, get that exhaust sorted :)

Can't believe I hadn't come across your thread until now, Baffles. What an amazing transformation! Car is looking absolutely stunning. Polarg's and Philips Diamond Visions are my bulbs of choice also. Love your beautiful pics too  xx

Thanks, think the blue / chrome look works well :)

I'm actually gonna have to disagree with you on this one. The LED sides I've got are absolutely pure crisp white (shown in pic), and the main and dipped Diamond Visions still have a tint of yellow in them, and there's hardly a difference between them and Crystal Visions. I almost thought I've been had - but checked the bulbs and they had Philips text on and are darker blue than the previous. Almost need to see someone elses to see if the colours match. Even the Diamond Vision fogs I've got installed are almost pure white..

Are you able to take a pic of yours? I know it's hard to tell from photos but should give an indication.

Yeah they are Polargs - I was lucky enough to get hold of some when Paullie first found the link. They are 10v so slighter brighter than what Trups is currently supplying.

The exhaust is annoying so will get it looked at eventually.

Thanks Paullie

That's strange you say that, I'm going to have to get a couple of pictures of mine.

On their own the 9smd LED sidelights I've got look super bright white, but the Diamond Vision dipped beams just look way whiter still! I think it must be down to the angles, because when looking down onto the lights then you notice the yellow rim of the light cluster, but if I kneel down and look straight at the light it appears much whiter. The sidelights in your picture look considerably brighter/bluer than mine do.

WHEN r u gonna DROP its like hot!? :) :)

Also I suggest some bigger exhaust tips!

Great job man..

Hi Baffles, odd question, but what is that on the underside of your parcel shelf? it looks like a net or something, and its something i wanted to mod in my sportback ( i know its sad...)

is it just a net or is it more like a storage compartment? I saw this on the Audi website and havent been able to find ANYTHING like it anywhere and i've not seen or heard of anyone who has done this mod. i've got a picture of what i mean but i'm struggling to drop it in here for some reason

got there in the end! this is what i wanted to install, but i have no idea what it is, where to get it and if anyone has done this... looks like a nice way of storing a few useful bits and bobs, but keeps them out of site and doesnt clutter the boot space..

thanks dude, thats EXACTLY what i wanted to get :D

although i dont know if i can justify the cost, seems a little steep.

thats what i wondered - it looks like quite a hard plastic material - not soft and absorbant. if it was the same material as the dash it would absorb rattles.

The storage pack is quite useful, especially the discreet little storage drawers under the front seats.

I'm thinking of going to AMD in Woking for a custom exhaust, anyone else been that can recommend?

Pure A3 porn. Love it. By the way the handiest part of the storage pack is the plastic hook that comes down from the parcel shelf to hang bags from. Stops you getting your take away curry all over the place.

Lol, until you get too enthusiastic and hang a whole bag of Tesco shopping - for it then to fall off. Had to re drill mine

Ouch. I hate breaking bits off me car. What you need is the storage net that clips in on the floor. I've got one. It covers the whole load area. Just shove whatever your carrying under it and it doesn't move. Think I paid £12 on Fleabay. Forgot to add my congrats on a top job. I've got the same colour car needing a front end job so you're thread has given me the get up and go to do the work. Just need to find some cash. Hopefully the missus won't notice a bonnet, bumper and slam bar sitting in the spare room while I do it. If anyone has any bits for sale I'm interested.

I get all my car servicing done at AMD woking and i must say they are really good, used them for all my cars and the guy who runs the place simon is really helpful and knows his stuff, they have done just about everything on my a3 so far which isn't much yet!! give simon a ring

Chris

Not really much to report lately other than installtion of the new OEM number plate LED's. They are so good, they even make the Polarg's look a bit yellow..

Well if you read you can find the part numbers:

4H0 943 021
4H0 943 022

Any Audi dealer, including Stoke Audi on this forum sell them.

They were just over £20.

Hi Baffles - greetings from sunny Melbourne - love what you've done with your car - very classy indeed. A5 rims are a really nice unique touch....tho' my R8 replicas are one thing I don't want to mess with on my stock car (apart from a refurb...they kerb soo easily)

Was thinking of replacing the front grille on mine with the facelift like yous - any tips on who does the best ones/fitting?

And of the mods you've done which do you think made the most impact for the money/time invested.

Thanks for the kind comments. I had my front and rear bumpers done at Harwoods in Southampton - they were pretty decent. Obviously stick with OEM parts and you'll be fine.

The front bumper made the biggest difference. Bought on out of date design in to something more modern.

On the lookout for an A5 now though, so have put the car up for sale :(

Evening guys,

Just really wanted to say a big thanks to everyone on here for your help and support during my A3 ownership.

Sold the A3 for a pretty good price, and just bought this baby:

Will obviously still be posting here and there :)

Lovely new car!

I hope you didn't sell the a3 with all the facelift parts on it? Could have got decent money for them?

Yeah took some bits off - still got a good price so can't complain!
