My usual run from Cov to Bedford today, helped a little by 10 miles of slowish traffic on M1, and not caught up by too much rush hour either side, oh and the oodles of torque AMD gave me:

Do I get a prize? :applaus:

What sort of range do you get from a tank? and what was your average speed on that trip? What brand of tyres do you have fitted? and lastly are you sure you weren't sold a 1.8t with an S4 bumpers and interior and clocks

I generally get 300 to a tank, have got over that and under, depends on the sort of driving I do. That last tank was over 300. That one journey was around 60 miles. I often stick it on cruise on the motorway at around 65, as traffic in the morning is around that, but obviously there's traffic and bits where i'll nip up to 80/90+ to overtake.
That was on Contis, but I just got 4 new tyres today!
Yep, I am sure, as the RS4 I raced a couple of weeks ago will testify as well as several others :blackrs4:
I am running a proven 350+ BHP and 323 lb/ft.

have you done anything to change the font on your trip computer? mine seems to be different.. ive got 1.9 tdi?

I normally get about 290-300 from a tank as well. But my mpg is normally about 19-21. Had that on a few runs up to heathrow recently and the dis has said a solid 19mpg cruising at 70-80mph. The reason why I asked about the tyres is because on my last a4 I change to Goodyear f1's and my mpg dropped by about 3mpg. Did you rolling road yours when it was tuned or have you done that since? I want to get mine on some rollers to see what sorts of numbers I'm putting down with my mods

Was just kidding about the 1.8t part ;)

dsmclark: The old F1 Asymmetric had pretty high rolling resistance, which probably explains the consumption drop. The newer Asymmetric2 fixed that issue!

Getting an MPG like that isnt too hard on one journey if as described your just sat on cruise at 65mph. Trying to maintain that over an entire tank however, is a different story, unless you burn the whole tank up driving at 65mph on cruise ofcourse :p

Paul100, pretty much. It was on the way home from ski-ing one time, so it was almost all downhill on the way home. Granted, that figure was only after 10 miles. Over the entire journey (about 50 miles) the average was closer to 36mpg, but I didn't get the photo.

I generally get about 280-300 miles from filling the tank to the fuel warning coming on though. Although the best I have seen is 350 miles before it pings at me. Which would be roughly 380-400 miles from the full tank.
