I should be able to answer your questions pretty soon about delivery..in case youve not read i must be the luckiest BE order ever reading the thread. I ordered around 4 - 6 weeks ago and was told it will be here for 1st march. The car was destined for the dealer but ive jumped the waiting list and took over the order.
Going on the current order i received a call last week to say its going into production and the next call will be to tell me its arrived in the UK. My last A3 which is 2.5yrs old the same calls were about 2 weeks apart. Before i knew it the car was ready to collect though it was destined for a 1st Sept delivery last time it got put back till the 19th....i didnt mind as the A3 i was driving then was going back to Audi anyway. Same again applies to the new car...my current car is due back in Sept so as far as im concerned i dont care if its 1st March or end of march etc etc im not that bothered...i dont get why people have had so much grief with ordering a BE...mine was done over the phone in 10mins and so far the dealer hasnt even asked for a penny in a deposit....
Mine told me it would be earlier but has been put back. I don't believe them until I get the call to come and collect it.
Seems to be all over the shop, hope you do get it when he said. You must be one of the quickest be ever!

What you have to remember though bud, your car is not an accurate representation of timescales. The car you have taken over may have been waiting 4/5 months to get to the point it's at now. It's probs somebody who got bored of waiting.
I ordered my BE on 1st July and was told I would get it in October. On the first of October I was given a build week 42. That was the first week of Nov I think. My car was built during 42, and I received it the 14th Dec. Due to working closely with Audi it was rushed through once it landed in the UK. This included transport from the dock and PDI process.
What you have to remember is that you could be given a build week but unless it goes to Code 20 (Confirmed build week) then it can change!
When I spoke to Audi UK as to why It took so long to build I was told that it was due to an increase in people becoming interested in e brand, the Tsunami in Japan (a lot of factories that produce parts for Audi were badly affected. One factory that produced one of the paint types was destroyed). Ok, this could all be bull but it all seems pretty sensible. I wasn't too worried in the end about wait time as the car was spec'd with everything I wanted to start off with. Any extras I didn't spec can be fitted through my company.

Fair point mate.....it was always a dealer car that they had on order for them for the first time ever and considering im the unluckiest person ever normally in this case i guess its a case of the right place right time....i wouldnt mind waiting but 6 months plus is taking the mick....my current car a SB Sport with xenons, uprgraded alloys and other bits was 3 months from order to delivery but i didnt mind. I can see why people are getting ragged off ive been waiting for a phone in our not so new house for 3 months with only a mobile and dongle for internet...so unless youve ever dealt with BT audi are a breeze....anyway thats a whole new story!
Mine was supposed to have been built last week dealer told me i rang him to try and put back the order from 1st weekend in March but he couldnt alter slots. Maybe youre right the parts delay builds up and up for certain parts of the BE im guessing things like the wheels which i cant wait for they look sweet!
Fair doos... As long as you know how to deal with Audi and don't get mugged off and ask for an update then you should be fine. My first Audi, I received an email weekly explaining what was going on. This time round, I had to ask for updates.
In regards to it being a 12 plate, thats rubbish. Tell them you do not want the car PDI'd until after 1st March. Ok you may have to wait an extra few days after the 1st as they will be very busy but they can alter when they PDI my friend.
Been using the same dealer for the 3rd time now i dont get emails i just get calls from the point of contact when theres any news like 2 weeks ago he rang to say just a quick call to say the car is going into production next week. Thats all i need bit of personal touch all it takes is a 30 sec phone call and im happy. Next call will be tell me its in the UK etc...As for the 12 plate it will always be a 12 plate never any question about that the dealer said it will be...its me that said can i put it back to which he not surprisngly said NO..he obviously needs his sales! Im not surprised mind and am not too bothered...just be nice to get into a new car as i feel v lucky after an accident at christmas how life could change if it had turned out a lot worse so in order to get me and the missus over it even though the car was fully repaired at audi weve decided to blow the budget!

I placed my specification in with my fleet manager this morning. Not decided if I am going to go for an Ibis white or Red car. Either way I won't be paying for fancy paint as I am spending enough on options already. With a 6-7 month delivery is looks as if I might be lucky to get it by Aug / Sept. My address is Stalybridge but I am nearer to Mossley as I reside on the Churchfields estate in Millbrook. Currently running a red golf GT Sport and an A3 sport in black with a private plate S80 OCH. Give me a flash if you see us.

I have just had some news that my car is now week 19 instead of week 21 so things appear to be moving..... I won't hold my breath though.

I have just been give a new M sport 3 series diesel to use with the option to keep it from work, really feed up of waiting and might take up the offer, shame its black though

Jagojon now that is a nice dilemma to have. BMW not on the list at work so I have to wait a long time for an A 3 or get a golf bit pay more tax !

I don't understand why vw is more expensive? I thought Audi was the more premium brand but if I spec a golf to the same level a3 that I have ordered it's about 2.5k more. Confused by that but hey I would rather have the Audi.

Me neither. Also the golfs dont have stop start technology so if you are a fleet driver you end up paying more every month as well. My current golf which was £ 19600 is costing me £ 150 a month in tax. When I get my hands on the £ 25600 A3 BE it will go down to £ 105 per month. No much but better in my pocket than the poxy government.
Looks like I am just playing the wating game now. I wonder how may pages this post will be by the time I get it.

I sure am. I used to have 2 mk4 golfs but going up in the world and will eventually have 2 A3 sportbacks. ! Also in uk-audis but its very quiet over there.

I had a similar choice. Currently have a mk6 2.0 Tdi 140 Golf GT, (company car) was going to spec the same again as now comes standard with full leather, heated seats, cruise, bluetooth, ipod etc but no start/stop so emissions makes it around £40 more a month than the A3.
When I was looking, black edition was out of my budget anyway, so as previously mentioned have gone for an s-line with a few extras, some of which I am paying for myself, with delivery within 3 months. Delivery on a Golf would be 3 months anyway so why don't you just go for an s-line with the extras you need/want? I'd enquire with you lease company what delivery times are between the s-line and BE?

I was at harrogatew audi last week probably the best dealership ive ever been to audi wise...and love the free drinks in the fridge!
They seemed to have a stock of A6 and Q5 if anyone is interested?!

Ive clearly been v lucky dealer called today....car in UK be ready for 1st March. now have the reg number. Out of interest to the forum i asked about delivery and explained the grief people are going through on here. He told that the car was ordered by the dealer themselves 6th Dec. On 11th Jan i called and took over the order and 1st March its ready. I asked so how is it people wait 6 months +. He explained that the car was an order with Audi that can be tweaked ie they order A3 BE but the options etc can be changed and so he can jump in and take over the order. They have cars on constant order so if its not sold prior to delivery they take stock of it, either sell on forecourt, drive it etc but thats how he does it.
Can only speak personally. I did ask so if i walked in and you never had one of the BE on order how long would we be talking he said a long time.....so my tip again is call a dealer see if you can take one of their stock orders of a BE and negotiate!
It being nearly the end of week 8 and me being an impatient ****** I just emailed my dealer to check if there has been an update (my build week was week 6). I'm not expecting delivery to me within the next 3 weeks, but damnit I'm getting excited!
Edit: My car had "just" come off the production line and was still awaiting a shipping date. Whether I just got impatient or whether they forgot to update me I guess I'll never know, but I was under the impression that it took significantly less than 3 weeks (6, 7 and most of 8) to perform final assembly on the car. Ah well, I'm not too fussed, whether they told me instantly it came off the line or not, it won't make it get here any faster. She's on her way though!

I know mate, problems are
1. Rwd , pants in bad weather and i do huge miles, dont want to get stranded..............................ever
2. rear seats are rubbish for booster seats, the stalks are too close to the outside of the car and sit under the booster seats .
3. it was somebody elses car first, not my spec or colour choice
4. finally, wifey dont like it, thinks it looks like a pimp mobile in black. now if it was le mans blue hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Congratulations! I've not tried to make a baby in the meantime but I'd nearly have had time to make a premature one before mine arrives. Hope Mrs Jagojon and JagojonJr are healthy, and that the JagojonMobile turns up soon to ferry them around in style.

you must be, strangely thats where mine was ordered from since the middle of july and they were supposed to call me if they had a cancelled order of similar spec too!!!!
enjoy it mate, maybe they have sorted their act out as I know my lease company are less than impressed and let them know.

Mine is finally on order at work (probably through a broker) and they have said delivery is "towards" the end of July. Not building my hopes up. But I will be gutted if it arrives at the end of August before the 62 plates come out !
Mine's on her way :-D just got a call from the dealer saying she's in stock, I just need to insure it and she'll be here on wednesday. I never did get the call to say it had left the factory/been shipped etc, but it was registered on a 12 plate anyway so I'm happy.
An extra £150 to get it delivered on the back of a trailer so that nobody else gets to drive her, bah. Does anyone know if I get an iPod lead with it? I've got the RNSe with music interface, do I need to ask my dealer for the cable, or will it be included?

I didnt have any problem getting mine...I first ordered mine on the 31october 2011 to be ready for 1st March 2012...I ordered A3 2.0TDI Sline in Ibis white with xeons and privacy glass...2 weeks before I was due to collect it, it came to light that for 200quid extra i could have had the black edition..I thought i'd have to wait until July 2012 but the guys at Audi Sheffield found me one the very next day and I picked it up on 3rd March...I think I was just lucky though xx
ordered my A3 black edition with pear paint and loads of extras on 21st December 2011. Being delivered on Thursday 22nd . 2 weeks ahead of original date!!
