Audi A3 Black Edition Delivery Times 2011

Mine was in as week 6 confirmed when I asked the dealer (they didn't notify me) - they've not told me it's out of the factory though, apparently they get in touch when it's complete and ready to ship to them. Anyone know how long I should expect?

They told me middle of March for delivery - how the sodding hell does it take a month to get a car from Germany to the UK?

As for dealers, I went into two different ones, neither were interested in the slightest. One of them all but told me I was taking the ****... I told him I was a cash buyer, he changed his tune to ****-licking and I walked out and, as with others in this thread, bought from dealers further afield. I want the car, yes, but at the end of the day it's not my place to try to force money down their throat.

Hoping for completion in the next few days a quick shipment so I can see it in the first half of March.

getting it shipped shouldnt take that long they told me the same with mine , my delivery date was 7th sept it was here 2nd week in aug. think the shipping time only took a week from them letting me no it was ready to it arriving in audi derby ....

good look you will love it when it does arrive.

Just gone for the 140ps, that's all i could afford. Currently driving a golf mk6 gt 140ps diesel, it's plenty quick enough for me.

The lack of extras might help, but considering I ordered an Ibis White, Black Edition (albeit with many of the trimmings) back in July/August and it's in the factory right now expecting delivery in March, I think they might be being a tad optimistic. The only way you have any chance of getting that is if there's an order about to go through the factory that someone's cancelled.

I'd be expecting more like end of May/June if you ordered at the end of Jan - 4 months as a minimum.

My old man ordered his on 7th of Jan and his build week is end of March. His is a 170 S-tronic with leather/cruise/autolights/heated seats/Phantom Black.

I think dealers are being optimistic in order to secure the sale.

You're probably right, there has been a lack of communication on their part! At least the weather will be better!!

I ordered a 2012 A3 2.0T quattro ibis white, (Black edition) as well, over in the states Audi is calling this package the Titanium package and it includes s-line package as well and we get alcantara centers on the seats,

I ordered it back in December and my ETA is the month of May but my dealer told me they might ever see it in March will see...

3-5 weeks usually. Will be busy atm due to stuff getting reg'd for March 1st too.

Latest Update. I have been given build week 18, with delivery to dealer of 18th May. Im assuming that the build week is the calendar week which would mean w/c 30th April. I was previously told arrival to dealer date of April 19th.

What a joke. Seriously thinking of ordering something else but there is nothing else out there that comes with the level of equipment, prestige and low emissions for £25k. I even looked at an A4 but you have to spend another 2k for a mid spec car with boring wheels on it.

Sorry lads dont mean to crash the thread and deliberatly wind people up but i ordered mine last month and delivery for 1st march infact im trying to put the dealer back as i didnt want it that early! I ordered an A3 SB 140tdi BE with basic options in Monza Silver.....that said it was a dealer stock order with audi that i hijacked so if the delivery time is taking forever and believe me ive been there with audi then it might be worth trying other dealers for there stock orders?

Just a thought.....wonder if i made the right choice of colour i dont know anyone that has a monza silver A3 BE.......

Yeah the single tail pipe is coming on my new car...its because the engine has start/stop doesnt look as good as my current twin pipes on my Sport but hey ho lower emissions and cheaper to run is worth it

Also new to the forum. Not a black edition but a 2.0 Tdi 140 SB S-line with xenons, ipod and bluetooth.
Ordered 2 weeks ago, was told delivery around 10/12 weeks, confirmed build date of week 12.

It does seem to be Black Editions that are having the holdups - presumably some combination parts and a long waiting list being the problem. If you've got a confirmed build week, that's pretty quick - mine was 6 months before I even got a confirmed build week... supposedly 2 weeks ago, but I've not heard anything about it being complete and ready to ship yet.

Anyone who's had theirs delivered, how long did you wait between build week and being told it was ready to ship? My build week was week 6, we're currently nearly halfway through week 8 (I think?) and I've heard nothing. Going to give the dealer a ring tomorrow if I've not heard anything.

My confirmation was from the lease company we use for co cars. I assume they have confirmed a fast del. because they have per booked build slots. Time will tell.

Mines went from week 34 to 44 to 48 to 13/2012 lol.

Black Editions have an extremley restricted marker on them. The dealer showed me the chart they use for working it out the other week and all Black Editions on the list were 6 months build date and S-tronic 170s were showing as 6months +.

I don't get the whole build date thing... How do they work it out? Do they build a certain model on certain week numbers?

Surely they would up building a certain model to clear the backlog or do they keep it like this to show they are in demand?

Either way a long time that I hope is worth it, my wait hopefully isn t as bad as some others have had.

I should be able to answer your questions pretty soon about delivery..in case youve not read i must be the luckiest BE order ever reading the thread. I ordered around 4 - 6 weeks ago and was told it will be here for 1st march. The car was destined for the dealer but ive jumped the waiting list and took over the order.

Going on the current order i received a call last week to say its going into production and the next call will be to tell me its arrived in the UK. My last A3 which is 2.5yrs old the same calls were about 2 weeks apart. Before i knew it the car was ready to collect though it was destined for a 1st Sept delivery last time it got put back till the 19th....i didnt mind as the A3 i was driving then was going back to Audi anyway. Same again applies to the new car...my current car is due back in Sept so as far as im concerned i dont care if its 1st March or end of march etc etc im not that bothered...i dont get why people have had so much grief with ordering a BE...mine was done over the phone in 10mins and so far the dealer hasnt even asked for a penny in a deposit....
