If you have considered this map for your s3..... DO IT!!!!

Nathan (N8) came round this morning to flash a stage 1 map to my car, was really impressed with the service he offered and how friendly he and his friend were. ( they even cleaned the inside of my car :) )

The map is fantastic, the way in which the car pulls through every gear has changed, and a great change it has been.

So in all, i recomend this software to any perspective buyers, it is also very well priced at £399.

Cheers N8 :)

Nice one, Hanz! Couldn't have said it better myself, ..Shark and N8 FTW!!! Enjoy  xx

We are now Shark dealers as well and it's so good to see so many happy customers cropping up on the forums. I had my S3 taken to stage 3 yesterday, I need a new clutch but the car still drives better than it did with the REVO stage 2. I can't wait to get the proper full fat stage 3 put on as Mikko set mine up a bit lower on power while I get the Sachs clutch fitted :)

Just watching Mikko work on the laptop altering the map to suit was mind boggling and a real eye opener.

Just wondering... so is a shark stage 1 remap just flashed to your ecu (like bluefin), or is it adjusted/tailored to your car like revo?

Revo is just flashed to your car as well. It all depends where you have the map done. In Mansfield it can be done on the rolling road or live mapping. This file can then be distributed to the dealers to use.

I get that bluefin, shark and revo are all flashed to your car, but bluefin is just a straight flash with no other input/adjustment, whereas revo is flashed to your car at the dealers and, as far as I know, they adjust/tailor it to your car.
What happens with the shark remaps when applied as above?? i.e. when n8 turned up with the OP's remap file was it a generic remap file for his model/engine and just flashed to the car and that's it?

Just trying to understand for future reference.

The one thing that's quite useful about the Revo SPS switch is you can amend your running parameters when you add modifications to the car (add a CAI / exhaust / pump), or when the ambient air temperatures increase during the summer months (25 deg c plus) it gives you the opportunity to optimise the settings to ensure you can retain the best possible performance for the conditions.

When you buy a Revo map the franchise dealer will load the map with preset settings, but them depending on your mods should adjust the Boost / Timing / Fuelling settings to align to the cars spec / mods. If you then buy the SPS you can have full control and save 3 settings to the SPS (as the car adapts to the map the owner may find they want to tweak the map settings to optimise it to their car - no 2 cars are exactly the same).

I'm sure I've read in the forums that the maps can be tweaked at Shark.

Right basically if I came to map your car, I'd upload a standard stage 1/2/3 map to your car depending on what's needed and then we would take it out to see what you think. If you thought it wasn't quite right, for example you wanted it more aggressive, we can send a request through to Shark for a more aggressive map. They will tweak the map and send it back through to me to upload to the car.

It isn't just as simple as say a Bluefin, were every map is identical and there are no possibilities for adjustment.

Ah ok. It does sound like a similar process to bluefin though, difference being that customers apply the bluefin themselves. You can also request a more aggressive/tweaked map from superchips too if not happy with the first remap, which they send over for the customer to upload it to their car.

I'd be interested to hear reviews on shark'd 2.0TFSI though. I'm very happy with my bluefin but always up for trying other things.

From what I have read/heard and my impression from talking to Mikko at a Shark open day, he and Bluefin follow a more conservative path with slightly less aggression than a Revo but as others have stated all these maps are generic but then tailored by the installer to suit your requirements.

I've had maps of pretty much all of the main players over the years, my current favourite is still Revo as it always produces the gains claimed and replicates this across numerous vehicles, I have yet to try software from Shark so can't comment but everything to date has been positive with the exception of a slight issue they have had with DSG but I believe this is also being developed to isolate any issues and reprogram.

N8 is a lovely bloke and no doubt will always give exceptional service, stage 1, Revo or Shark - just got to be done - go on wake that car up :)

hi all im just about finishing the changes to the way my S3 looks now im after some idea s about what to do power wise is stage 1 just a remap ? what do i need for stange 2 3 and 4 etc? what are rough prices and wheres good near leeds

Mines been on a week now and I'm chuffed to bits, got a nice thrash to Cardiff at the weekend so I'm looking forward to that. Thought stage 1 was enough for me but I'm already thinking about stage 2:racer:

What about south of Edinburgh......roughly 1 hour from Carlisle into the Borders across the A702??? Might try another remap for the S3.

I have sent you a PM mate, I'm up for a road trip to Scotland I think :)

Won't take Graeme too long in the stage 3 S3 :)

Haha :) I'll go up and do his map and end up losing money blasting it round all the great roads up there!

Do it! Mines just getting better and better :)

Glad to hear it :)

Your S3 will love the roads over to here. One of the best roads is the A702 over to the M74......nice n twisty. Porsche 911 magazine did a review of the road with a 911 turbo and fell in love with it. And I live slap bang right on it......mwoaahhh.
