Been trying to workout which grey my car actually is. So I tried getting to the sticker in the boot but thats faded so just looked in the owners manual. The paint code is LY7K which correct me if I'm wrong is Mineral Grey?

What is teh difference between the 2 colours?

Were they special order only?

Which one is more 'rare?'

Mineral grey was the rare one.. If you hAd an ebony black one, it would of been worth zillions! :rockwoot:

I nearly bought an ebony black S3. It was the cream interia that put me off in the end

Mineral grey is most definitely the best colour :)

This argument is purely academic, everybody knows that the fastest and best color is LZ9U.

And if you don't know what LZ9U is, you don't belong to your car...

Each to their own...
But im far from sad enough to know paint codes.

Come on Paul it's 9-30pm on a Friday night and your busy posting on a car forum :)

My daughter is in bed, Im working at 5 am,
I have a cold beer and an hour to kill before bed... you got me

Yes. and has much more power than your poor mans S3 :icon_thumright:

I don't doubt it, but I guess it needs it to pull all that dead weight around that you carry under the boot floor.

No sour grapes over power here, you can win that argument hands down...My car's still quicker though :)

I probably could afford an S3, but I'm 20 and my girlfriend and I own a house and I spent all my money on that...

We all have plans...
Just i dont shout about mine.

The S3 is a work horse and a shower, I beefed it up and replaced the weak links ive found so far.
Dead weight? Again, personal choice.
I like ( now with the blue controler) how it feels. Ive had ( and still have ) powerful front wheel drive cars... this is where i get slated
I feel the extra control the awd system gives compensates for my agressive driving style,

I'm pretty close to achieving my plans, 250BHP is a 50 quid set of injectors and a mapping session away. Should have it by the end of April with some budgeting.

I too need AWD to make up for a lead foot, I just love boosting it everywhere haha!

I've heard good things about the upgraded controller, is it worth the hype? Out of interest what power is your car?

The controler was a chance bargin
So i feel it was well well worth the money.
That and the rear ARB upgrade has helped the feel no end, More so at the limit of grip i find
My car... its nothing to shout about. A bit more than standard but just enough to pull it up a hill with its fat ***

i miss my dolphin grey A3 sooooo much, i think the colour perfectly compliments the shape of the A3
