Show us your dyno reading!

No mate i carn't see it either

Sorry guys. This is odd as i can see it fine. Uploaded and url is correct. I uploaded on my PC as my iphone got kicked off tapatalk by audisport.net. Are they doing updates today as i had to login etc...on all systems?

I'll test again in a bit and try to re-post it where necessary. Bit dissapointed as last reading tailed off at 293bhp at 257lb torque due to clutch slipping and pre the final tweaks. It has more power now but I couldn't measure it. Will re dyno later in the week and re-post anyway as this is still a work in progress. It does sound pretty awesome though due to that xspower mani though. Best mod i've done i reckon.

Jim the torque curve just seems really weird, peak torque is really late on, and theres no early plateau... Whats the boost doing in this range?

It may do as we have tried to deliver a very linear map throughout delivery to maintain turbo/drivetrain/mount integrity. Essentially this means that maximum power on slightly later on than normal and it drives noticeably different from standard when driving as a result. However, we had made further adjustments after this reading as this was not the final map and represents very much a work in progress.

You will notice at 6000rpm just fell away and whilst we didn't really notice at the time, we suspect the clutch slipping to be responsible for the drop. I'm hoping that it's not the clutch but when i drive home tonight, i'm going to give it the full beans and see.

Whatever the case, at the end of the week, i'm going to be back on the dyno...with a new clutch if necessary and measure/fine tune it again. I suspect that i'm running about 305bhp now with around 280lb torque (less than i'd hoped but more than sufficient). Hopefully i'll be able to demonstrate before the week is out and report back.

No idea, i've never used albums on here.

l'd just upload it to photobucket or image shack instead!

These turbos are just so hit and miss, i would be ****** had i spent all that cash and ended up at 305hp!

It feels like more and it's how responsively that it delivers it, is what has impressed me. Like i said...i'll post the final one towards the end of the week.

Well i've just plotted your torque graph against wellys (just eyeballed off the graphs) and we get this:

Welly v jim

Now ok, wellys does have a fair few extra bits on there, but thats a HUGE void between the two cars...

What boost are you running?

I can see the pics, always have been able too since Jim first posted them. perhaps it's because I'm special?

I've spent all the money too kev and I'll end up with even less power!

I'm fairly sure though, that like me Jim is limiting boost until he has rods to cope with the turbo's full capability

If thats the case then fine, but it doesnt look like a steady low boost map to me, its as though the boost starts low then very slowly tapers up?

Hmm, low boost map and boost creep perhaps?

looking at the torque curve I wouldn't be surprised! Mine is a very different shape:

Still screen shot from a video of a dyno run:

8009f4cb.jpg

Figures on that run are 311bhp / 277lbft at 15/16psi i think it was

And another screen shot from earlier runs:

5af3b9a7.jpg

305bhp/270lbft at 14psi, and the actuator run is 270bhp/240lbft at 11/12psi

Final figures will end up lower as Niki has had to detune it with my standard rods in mind.

yeh look at your torque, its totally flat, exactly as you'd expect from a nice steady flat boost curve, the stock engine is similar (obviously less)

You car manages 311hp and 300lbft at 16psi and 270/240 on actuator and manages to hold those torque figures for most of the rev range...

Jims car barely makes more than 250lbft and when it does its a tiny peak at the top.

Something very odd with his graph IMO.

Exactly. Case and point.

Unusual underpowered is because, and like I've mentioned in each posting...it's not my final map. We uploaded it, i went off for a drive with new settings and the clutch started to slip and I couldn't dyno it in that state properly. This was 2nd run of suspected 4 in testing.

Because of all of the news mods...a new custom tip, the xspower mani and the Td hybrid...we've just been tinkering.

As prawn says...without rods, I'm not going to push it too hard.

Glad that most of you can view. Might be due to private settings. I'll sort it.

My clutch wasn't slipping today, so maybe it was playing up as we we adjusted the fuel timing yesterday.

Currently, the car has been set at 310bhp and 295lb of torque. We will also be adjusted the map to boost earlier which is more to my liking. Hitting peak at 4000rpm it too late. I'll dyno again and post again with once final adjustments have been made.

heres my best run i had at bills, was running some crazy boost

mbc fitted and running 1.4 bar

i ran on the rolling road day but intake temps killed my runs (60 degrees) not good :(. i have now changed my intercooler for a much better setup :)

So then, can I assume that you're sig figures are taken from your 2 highest readings and not from 1 specific run ;)

lol, they are max figures :D in run 1 and 2 nothing was changed, i just had out of control boost and a **** load of heat.

on my liquid gauge the other night i made 295bhp and 290ftlb can i use that in my sig :D

westy just looked at your graph and you have some serious torque :) fair play

still thats a great result, all my above runs, the k04 is over 100k old

I think it's down to my 6 month old K04. Most people have old tired K04s and when they refurb them they get them hybrid. That's the only thing I can think of creating the clutch eating toque.

It's is so impressive! The torque has to be responsible for your mashed up clutch. Perhaps change your post caption from 'K04 murderer' to 'clutch killer'!

What is the limit for the OEM one anyway....I can't imagine it's good for much above 270lb of torque for any real longevity. I'm already contemplating a new clutch after this weeks tweaks.

This is with a normal K04

Tut tut Dane....

You wish your S3 had that power else you wouldn't have gone to the dark side and gone all RS4 on us...

<tuffty/>

Yeah I do! Cheaper tyres that's for sure!

The torque line really shows how rs4 could gain from larger ID TIPs

The TIP on an RS4 is about 400miles long, and consists of about 12 different parts!

Dont really see how you get that from the torque graph though?!

Yeah I know and theres not a lot of room to get big pipes in.

I made the jump as the rs4's torque curve Isn't a million miles away from my s3's (pre b5 TIP) I'm sure the ko4s on the rs would love the extra airflow like the k04 on the s3 did.

Anyhoo back on topic ;)

Might not be as much as everyone elses but im happy :p

stage 2 from rtec - xs power down pipe and manifold, welly cooler, v1 badger 5 tip and jetex filter

s3xspowerrtechbothrollingroad.jpg

not as much as it could have, but slightly tired turbo gives me a good safe rod protection system :)
