Hi all,

Wonder if you S-tronic users experience the same thing.

Well I noticed quite weird noise coming out of the gearbox area when I run the car from cold in manual mode then when I'm pressing throttle pedal to bring revs up to 1,5 2k revs then lift of the pedal I get clunky knock. It doesnt happen when engine is warmed up or in D mode is not noticeable much, when put in reverse you can either hear some clunky noise at first when you put down the throttle.

Got a video done so will post it later.

No clunking on mine either. I have noticed that a few times during the really cold weather it wasn't as silky smooth as normal. And the other day when it was about -3 it decided to drop down to 1st gear at about 7-8mph when I was slowing down, instead of staying in 2nd.

I can always hear a slight clicking noise from the S-Tronic when driving slowly (up to 15mph or so). I think this is the unit pre-selecting the next gear and I understand that this is quite normal.

Definitely can't hear this on mine.

I have an S Tronic and have noticed slight mechanical clunk noises coming from underneath the car when I ease off or under very slow speeds after setting off. I have also noticed clunks when stationary and changing between D and R if I open the door and listen hard. This all tends to be when the car is cold. I got my non Audi garage to check it out a while back and the car has since been for a full service with my Audi dealer and no faults were reported after both visits so I have stopped worrying about it......until reading this thread!

Would love to know if it's normal or something just wearing out on my 5.5 year old car!

I'm new to DSG and I don't experience any clunks. maybe the odd jerkyness when cold but that's just me be careless with the throttle probably.

the car has now covered 1000 miles and no problems to report. apart from its white and it seems to get dirty straight away.
