After reading plenty of builds with lots of good work going on, I was sat here thinking about what bhp / torque figures were currently being achieved from the 1.8T engine.

I thought that it would be interesting to perhaps post the figures and the dyno reading to supplement which could then stimulate discussion.

I'm looking forward to seeing what people are running and that it won't descend into a **** fight.

pick some... same dyno, same day.... dyno to dyno is subject to good old lottery of course

ASN DD1- Directory Listing of /bin/Dyno/asn-061110/
ASN DD2-Directory Listing of /bin/Dyno/asn-scn-301011/

and of course factory in this:

Ive got loads from my two in various states of tune Jim, will post a few up later when I get home

Here's Prawns old plot from his daily (to save him posting it) -

Abit of a noob question here, but il ask anyway due to my lack of knowledge with dyno's.

Is there a max power that the a3 can achieve at the wheels? I see both your runs, but prawns still only gets 190bhp at the wheels, despit having 224 engine power, what did yours get at the wheels, as i can only see a max power on your run? Or is that at the wheels with some correction?

Thanks ad

I await Welly's post as he has one of the more powerful 8L's on here atm but here is one highlighting my progress over the past couple of years...

...more to come hopefully :)

Here's one of mine on the JBS "yeah right" rollers. Can't find the other one I have from a different set of rollers that read 285bhp which is more realistic I'd say.

This is standard, stage 1, and stage 2 AMD maps (stage 2 i only had induction kit, 007p, milltek cats and cat back)

Bills just as running in was completed on MTM lean map with rediculous boost, as you can see bill pulled out of the run as engine was very fresh (my bumhole was very tight lol) and running lean

And then the finished results after mapping at Bills but running less boost to keep egts in check

Will have some more results shortly as participating at a rr day at AMD shortly so will be able to compare directly to stage 1 and 2 and expect it will be a higher result am guessing 350 from previous experiances with their happy rollers, there does seem to be as much as nearly 10% difference between them and bills on exactly the same spec cars ;)

will hopefully be running wmi less boost but more timing by then so if thats the case then wont be a direct comparison to bills though so am slightly tempted to just leave as it is to get a bit more of a comparison?

Hehe thanks joe! I was pretty impressed with these figures when I bought it! If there's another duno day then sausage and bacon batch on me! Lol

i should be going on the rollers in a week or so, il post my stock s3 map and custom

Quick update...mine goes back on tomorrow for it's finalised custom map with the xspower mani and TD stage 3 hybrid.

Will post at lunchtime.

OK,. having spent the last 30 mins digging out various plots, here is Bumble from start to finish. Also worth nothing that all of these are on the same dyno.

This is over the course of about 18 months... which is a bit mental really. I get bored easily...

Plot of K04 with Revo Stage 1 dialled right up. This was (sadly) before the Badger 5 TIP arrived on the K04 scene.

Next up is a comparison plot between the CR 2283 non clipped RS6 turbine Hybrid K04, with a stock K04 Manifold (Blue) and the 034 POS High Flow Crack-after-5-mins manifold (Red).

hybrid1.jpg

OK, next, same hybrid as above (CR 2283 non clipped RS6 turbine Hybrid K04), this time with the XS Power/Relentless K04 High Flow manifold and also with and without WMI and boost changes. Red is pre WMI and more boost, blue is with WMI and less boost.

hybrid2.jpg

Lastly, a comparison of the two turbos that have since followed the hybrid K04. Orange is the PE1820 IHI Hybrid roller bearing turbo - it actually made a max of 370 BHP. Green and blue are the FP Green running less and slightly more boost, but only by about 1-2 PSI.

So, I have been through a fair few in the last 12 months if we are being honest.

There will be more to follow as well as I am in the process of ordering up a nice shiny new inlet manifold.... Hoping for some additional ponies as all of my plots with bigger turbos seem to follow the same line, leading me to suspect that there is a constant restriction with the engine at higher revs causing it. We shall see.

In every graph above the Torque dies off at 6K - and that is across a hugely different range of turbos and setups. The constant has been the engine config. Time for a change of that me thinks...

Right. I have a workin progress. Just been on the dyno andthe following result was the the last reading on the rollers before some finaltweaks. However...before we could get itback on the roller after these tweaks, the clutch started to slip.

I'm hoping that it's just a glitch but i'll know morelater. If not, it'll be a new upratedclutch and back on the dyno later in the week. So...my work in progress is as follows:-
