Hello all,

I wonder if anyone has Vagcom near Bristol to Plymouth and is availble Tommorow to Tuesday?

I askl as My ABs and traction control light have come on and i wou;ld like to determine what it is before spending money. the reason for the distance is unfortuantely i have an important trip to plymouth to start tommrow night/ saturday morning.

The lights came on, went off when peddle was pushed a little and backl on when pushed harder.

Now thjey are on constantly.

The car is okay to drive, I just need to check what it is.

Thanks All.

I'm in Plymouth and have VCDS, not about until Sunday though.

Probally take Klappes offer if poss, I wanna get it seen to rather soon, im thinking its a ABS sensor or speed sensor...

but its best to get checked.

Thanks

My money is on ABS sensors, but yeah we will see.

Bring your laptop, I'll put the kettle on and we'll see how it works out. :)

Ive noticed somone up in scotland has jsut posted the same type post.

Is this weather related?

Im thinknig (well hoping) its an ABS sensor - Is there something to do with th cold that kills the sensors?

Obvious common ABD light issue is the 3 x 30 amp fuses on top of the battery get old and crap. Mine needed replacing and weren't even gone and that was only the other day since the cold... The blades of the fuses seem to get damaged and don't contact properly.

Right guys, just vag com'd the car and despite both the TCS and ABS lights being on there aren't any faults. My VCDS lite would not connect to any of the controllers when going into module mode, but seemed fine in autoscan. But my bluetooth OBD reader has always been 100% and said there were no codes.

When started the (!) sign comes up in the DIS, when the time and date set button is depressed it says that it is an ABS fault.

I am suggesting that the link between the ABS and TCS is the ABS/wheel speed sensors, if one has gone down it would cause both ABS and TCS to stop working?

I have reccomended going to TPS with him in the morning and helping him fit two new sensors. Who agrees? Anything else I should check? I don't want to waste this guys money if it doesn't fix it...But it seems most likely cause?

The fuses in the battery box are ok. The car has Porsche Brembo's fitted.

Fuses were the cause to all the issues :/... Thanks everyone ..
