Supersprint cat back

Mate,i heard in flesh SS NonRes CatBack with BlueFlame DeCat DP in Austria,
the sound is true porno on S3:wub:and i think that's the best combo ever!
That's also the combo i'm going for in April ;)

What sports cat? Or decat?

Funnily enough, that's when i'm going to be buying the whole kit (SS cat back and blueflame DP sports cat. Wonder if we could get a group buy going....

Decat mate,decat ;)

Does decay pass MoT, or do you need to whack a cat in once a year?

No it doesn't but i have a nice friend who does MOT's and he's the one trying to convince me to decat rather than sports cat. It's the warning light that's putting me off. I don't want to have to go to stage 2 Revo (£500odd) just to get rid of it.

If you were to call HQ and visit them they could poss frig your S1 code for a small fee to write out the error.

You dont worry about warning light, few clicks and everything will be solved ;)
REVO should do it fo free!

Visiting them is 133miles just there :( that's the HQ anyway. Think a local Revo supplier would be able to sort it?

Should..... Even a small fee i wouldn't mind, but i don't want to have to go stage2 just for the warning light to disappear. Or drive a total of 266miles for it either.

Last time i spoke with my tuner,he said that installed DP will give you warning light
but he can make this disapear! You dont need to go stg2 route!

I hope that's the case. I'll just have to speak nicely to some tuners around me, hopefully they won't ruin the Revo remap that's already on.

I had stage 2 put on my gti mk6 day before DP was fitted and then the software stayed on for a week when the DP was removed prior to PX, I nver once had a warning light ?

I love the look of the SS exhaust, would like to see some more pics of the rear apron as I imagine it would be easy to mess this bit up.

Yeah but it's decat that will show a warning light.

Oh! thats makes sense now as nevr went down the decat route, good job really as I fried the clutch with stage 2 so certainly didnt need any extra torque :)

haha the decat doesn't offer too much more hp and torque, just an epic noise on WOT!

its worth the extra cost, if i had known about SS and their quality before i got my milltek i would have waited, if your mixing systems, look at someone like bluefin as from what I've heard in the last few months millteks quality has dropped off since outsourcing their production

I too have heard about the percived quality drop off but have yet to experience it. I have had numerous systems over the last 8 years and have had the odd issue but usually more to do with fitting than quality and design. In recent years I have ran several stage 2 + cars and also teted them thoroughly with plenty of track action and the only issue I encountered was some splitting on the tail pipes due to exreme temps - the pipes were replaced FOC and redesigned.

I'm always open to new offerrings but The thing that keeps me going back to Milltek is Excellent customer service, I', going to speak to the Guys at Milltek HQ and see if they think developing a new design with dual exit points is worthwhile, certainly looks the part but would probably need plenty of interest to make it profitable.

Can i ask please. The twin system fitted to an S3 sportback would need the twin exit apron.

Is thia available for the sportback & does anyone know the cost ?

Thanks

I think you have to adapt the existing apron to allow the additional exit point, this bit needs to be done well or risk ruining the whole look.

A good bodyshop should be able totrim it up for you, I'd be asking Stattler of Sheffield to do mine, not a body shop but they have a chap there called Craig that is brilliant at fabricating/adapting stuff, worse case scenario you may have to buy another rear apron if it got messed up.

Well looks like i'm going to end up going for a milltek cat back and a blue flame DP sports cat.

Can't bring myself to spend £800 on a Supersprint cat back when i can get all of the above for just over £800!!:crying:

Sorry for you mate:sorry: but you will also love your milltek and BF setup:icon_thumright:

I'm absolutely gutted. Was really looking forward to a supersprint cat back but every where i can find it for sale is excluding tax. Which then bumps it up over £800! I'd pay just over £600 but not £800.

I did look into this with Milltek but they are too busy with other projects at the moment to look at this option for us, rest assured though I will keep on the case even if I have to buy there usual cat back offering in the meantime :)

too loud :D
