As much as I respect Nissan hugely for doing this as a technical exercise in what is a difficult economic environment (Nissan's finance team must be locked in a cupboard or on leave), I hate the normal Juke with such a passion that this car only sets the record straight.
I'm at risk at going off on a rant, but these mini MPV's embody pretty much everything I dislike about Britiains 4wd obsession. I put the Juke in the same category of car as the new Mini (!) 4wd thing that's about as big as an A3, and the 'Urban Cruiser' (like *** who thought that was a good name for a car!). You NEVER see one of these things go offroad (so basically they're a marketing gimmick for people who like to think they're a bit adventurous or rugged), most of the drivers are actually so rugged that if they broke a nail they'd probably call 999 and ask for ambulance assistance, and to complete the package the owners are mostly orange coloured (above the neck) to match the 'look at me' paint colour they choose, wear sunglasses bigger than a welding mask because lets face it they don't want to get snapped by the paps between shopping in Aldi and dropping the kids off at the pool, and probably believe the countryside is a fictional place on TV (Emmerdale) rather than somewhere for outdoor pursuits.
You can always tell a **** car when the advert produced by the marketeers is total work of fiction (e.g. Urbanproof with the bouncing about through sprays of paint in a mocked up cityscape). Proves there is nothing of substance to market it against.
To be Frank, I'd rather be dragged about behind a horse and cart on my ballsack than drive a Juke as a daily, or any of the aforementioned. Hateful pieces of dressing up tinsel in a world full of superficiality and bull****!
But that aside, good find Paddy, and great photos from Dubai Coss. Love the concept even though I hate the car!
