Mine is supposedly being built very soon - but I've not even had confirmation of the build week yet. If I've not had the build week confirmed 2 weeks before, is that my cue to assume that it's about to slip?
If it slips more than 5 weeks (the threshold to get my deposit back) they can stick it and I'll be finding something else off a forecourt. When I was originally told the wait I knew it was long and I accepted that even though at 7 months+ it was hefty... but for it to slip after all that time is, quite simply, taking the **** - I wouldn't throw good money after bad, nor will I be throwing good time after bad.
Just spotted a 6 month old comparable 3 series with all the frills that might be fitting the bill... and I wouldn't even feel like a traitor.

if you haven't heard anything different chances are the car is going to build on time mine was down for build 2nd week in Jan car was in UK last Wed 25th, i would be quite confident in saying your car will still be on time
one way to find out would be to contact Audi via their web site i did and from then on they were good although slow at times (main due to the lease company) there information was spot on

Sorry for hijacking the thread lads but i ordered my SB BE 2.0tdi 2 weeks ago and got a call yesterday from dealer being built next week be here for 1st March...that said the car was a dealer order that i hijacked as it had the exact spec i wanted by bizzare chance (all i wanted as an extra was the storage pack) and in the colour i wanted...hope it looks good....ordered in monza silver

good on you mate, mine is now unconfirmed build week 7, delivery 5th April = 8 months and 1 week
Allegedly mine is built and on its way to the UK but I can't have it until at least the 6th March.
they must have speeded up because i ordered jan 4 and was originally given end june, and today it moved to mid april! could be because i'm light on the options but 3 months for this beauty will do me!

Great colour choice, must have been having a Misano red build week recently as we had our 140 tdi black edition in Misano Red delivered on Monday too! Its got comfort pack, heated seats, interior light pack, reversible boot mat and prob aother bits i've forgotten too! Oh and its filthy already!

Mine was also brought forward, now locked in for build week 7 and that was ordered at the beginning of December. Looking forward to getting my hands on the new motor!

The news of a couple of cars moving forward is making me smile... My car was ordered before Xmas and I was told mid may so fingers crossed it will at least be on time?
I still havent got a build date yet but been told I should in a week or two.
Starting to get excited now!

Hey all,
I thought I was dreaming a little.... just had a confirmed build date of week 21 so I have been told around 3 weeks from then I will get the car which will be nearly mid june. He has said it should come forward.... I guess I will just have to wait and see.

I ordered my Audi A3 2.0TDI 170 Black Edition on the 12th November 2011 and its ready now. I've got them to keep it until the 1st of March for the new 12 plate. Thats a record time breaking 4 months!!!

What options did you go for? I am really heavy on them so I assume that's the delay.
I am hoping that it will come earlier but not holding my breath for it... If it does come mid June it will be a cracking birthday present for myself!

Ahhh, I see. Yeah, that doesn't surprise me. I'm not sure about other Audi dealers but Lomond Audi seem to have horrendous customer service. So much so that although my new car is ordered through Lex, I was strongly considering going for a different make of car. The difference between them and Douglas Park BMW for instance is just night and day. The Audi won though!

Big mistake as the dealer I ordered through has recieved 3 orderes since because the service they providided (after the initial delay).
I was only 20 when I ordered my Black Edition but I was sitting at the desk with my spec on a bit of paper and he still wasnt interested. I was ready to put a deposit down there and then(so was my old man).
There was a news article on BBC the other day how new car sales have dropped 5% in Scotland. No wonder when the dealers ain't interested lol.
