Hi all - coming back to the VAG family after selling my Mercedes so have been away from the forum for a bit.

I ended up buying a 2.4V6 Convertible Sport. Lovely motor in Black with Cream heated leather.

Luckily the car had a much better spec than advertised so when I popped down to see it I had to have it.

There are a few niggles unfortunately that I required some insight into.

1. The driver’s side heated seat does not work. Anything I need to check before I rule out a dud seat?
2. I was interested in adding to oem xenon headlights. The car has auto lights and wipers with headlight washers, would that mean it has auto levelling headlights too?

I will add pictures soon as I dont have any to hand but I am enjoying the V6 sound J

Heated seat could be a host of things from a loose connection to knackered seat elements/climate control unit..... get it checked....

Auto lights will not have self levelling, if you want factory xenons then this will need to be done as well, most people just put HID kits in....

The heated seat may be the switch wheel which I fixed with some contact cleaner spray.Diagnostics would tell

thank you for the insight guys. I will try another climate control unit and work from there.

love the car, its a little old so i had my reservations but its mint!!

it was the 55K on the clock and the black exterior with beige interior that attracted me to the car.

Once i popped down to see it i noticed it had a fair bit on it in terms of spec that the seller did not know about.

some of the features include:

-heated leather (drivers side does not work but hopefully its an easy fix)
-elec folding mirrors
-auto lights and wipers
-interior light pack
-auto dimming mirrors
-coming home lights

it also came with both electronic keys and the little plastic one. The car is dent/scratch free but i think it could do with a detail to bring the shine back to the paint.

Plan is to give it a good once over and get some snaps, that's the weekend sorted :)

sounds a nice car
very surprised its not got xeons with it haveing the washers auto lights etc

Are you sure it's got auto wipers?

i think it does but will double check. It has the sensor behind the rear view mirror that all my previous cars with auto wipers have had.

Ill check it out when i get home from work.

same here. As soon as i saw the washers i thought Yes, Xenons but turned out not to be the case.

Sounds like a good purchase. I remember your A3 looked real nice. Do you have similar plans for the cab ?

thank you unitzero. miss that A3 a lot!!

Plans for the cab are some new wheels and lows. Dont think I will be going air on this as the coilies go low enough. My old avant look as if it was on air and even at that setting the KW's had around 20mm lower to go.

On another note i can confirm it does not have auto wipers. I checked the sensor behind the rear view mirror and the only sensor there is for the auto lights. I think i just assumed it would have both as all my previous cars with one has had the other.

Had to take a mate down to Kent so got a good run and managed to average 30mpg which i thought wasn't too bad indeed considering i get around 15 on my way to work.

I thought you were going to declare a B6 revelation with auto wipers then!

lol unfortunately not the case this time it seems.

Any one retrofitted the RNS-E satnav in their B6? i had the unit in my old A3 and loved it. Might be able to pick one up via the bay of e, guessing its not plug and play?!

I believe there are plenty of how to's on here - not plug and play but deffo do-able.

On another note You should get some pics of your old cars on here ;)

I'm pondering going with bags again with the Avant but as you say you can get coils to go almost as low and tuck at the rear I you wanted, it's just the practicality for me. Having a Family and all that business! Lol

Hmm, might just had to do that. Think the RNS would definitely bring the interior up to date.

lol ill get some pics of the old cars up :)

If you want air go for it bud. Im not too bothered about parking low i just like driving low so air was not needed.
If i had a car i couldn't get coils to go low enough on then i would go down the air route.

wheres the pics mate ?

Pics you say?! Here you go mate, took these after i washed the motor this morning.

Took it for a spin with the roof down and i did get some funny looks lol!!

thank you for the kind words James. I must say I love the cream leather.

Was shocked to find the protective film still fitted to the sill plates!!

While cleaning it I found out the seats have the extending bits to support your legs and under seat storage option.

I would like to get a bit more of the V6 burble through the exhaust but don't want to over do it.

May pop down to a mates exhaust garage and get him to take a look at the system.

I don't know much about the 2.4, maybe worth looking into trying to pick up a Milltek secondhand or something.

If its anything like the 3.0 v6 , a Millie will set you back around 700 buckaroos new !

Thats a fair bit!! I was thinking of going down the custom route. I can get the system to sound like i want that way, i dont really want it to be much louder. Just looking to free up a bit more of that V6 note :)

Looksssss sweet Bro :)

thank you bro ;)

I wasn't suggesting you spend £700! Hence my mention of secondhand.... ;)
