All I'm gonna say is - FLIP ME it's like being remapped again! The sound is lovely - not to chavy at all, in fact barely noticeable when cruising normally. But open her up beyond 3k rpm giving it the beans and it sounds like a Dyson hoover's been turned on & the DV just sounds naughty! (007P) One happy chappy. :)

Lol when I fitted my v1 b5 tip I thought it had a leak it's so loud haha

Argh, all these posts about the B5 TIP, makes me even more excited about finally getting to hear mine for the first time!

you can hear mine on Tuesday at ace cafe mate :)

Thanks dude. With any luck I'll be in mine on Tuesday, so I'll have heard how that sounds too :) Won't be mapped though, just putting some miles on it prior to mapping.

Any way to make one fit a ko3s? It just looks like i need that in my life the more i hear about them :(

nope :( won't fit a ko3S dude, as the inlet is simply too small!

B5 V1 billet adaptor on a ko3S:

You can see it's miles bigger than the ko3 inlet

Always somthing lol would one fit a ko3s hybrid ?

depends on which hybrid really my friend.....

a normal ko3/s hybrid runs a machined ko3 comp wheel, so the external dimensions are exactly the same, and it'd be too big again.

The ko3 hybrid + that Bill has developed runs a ko4 compressor housing, and can be fitted with a 3'' TIP, although due to how the ko3 turbo frame sits much lower than a ko4, the inlet would foul the gear shift cables badly, and needs a fair bit of modfiying.

Nothing is ever simple!

Ha a job worth doing is worth doing right, and in my exsperiance has never been easy lol would be nice to have one of those bad boys, best start saving up for an s3. Also would the b5 tip fit a astra vxr? Has it been done?

I highly doubt it! The billet adaptor might, but the ashtray VXR has the turbo hung off the front of the engine with an integrated hotside/ex manifold arrangement.

The billet bit is not the problem... that can be made to fit the turbo ok... its the position of the turbo thats the problem... there is simply no room for a larger TIP without serious modification... On the Lupo we had to reposition the gear change cables (not as easy as you may think) and modify the water pipe for the heater...

Not many peeps will want to do that just to get a TIP to fit...

Astra VXR mods use the soot chucker airbox then you can use 76mm hoses tot he turbo... have had a VXR on the dyno with said mods...

Nice to hear you finally got it fitted Fran; your new (old) v1 is still sitting in my garage awaiting fitment. Need to get this sorted soon.
