I have a A3 2.0 56 reg with only 24K Miles on. Audi say every 5 years or 75k miles so its been 6 years so far...

I aint to sure weather to get it done or not. Ive had one snap on me before and i wouldn't want that again!

Think i will get it done. Does anyone know the price of the cam belt and water pump change at audi?

Someone will come up with the exact figure but I think in the region of £400.

I got mine done at an independent VAG garage 18 months ago and it was about £295 (I think ! )

Audi website says £425 but it just says cam belt change doesn't say anything about a water pump.

Were was the garage located you used?

Thanks for that, I'm based in scarborough so only 50 miles away which is also good.

Also seen as its been 18 months down the line is the standard of work good?

£425! That's daylight robbery. Got mine done by a vag specialist 2 weeks ago, £360 for the full cambelt kit & waterpump. I'm sure if you google vag specialist for your area you'll find one & get a fair deal.

Oh yeah forgot to add the specialst i used uses official audi parts. Have a look about online you should get a much better deal.

I have just sent a email to the company 'mike foster' used as they are reasonably close to me.

I still use them all the time and the owner has 30 years experience with VAG and is hands-on.

Thoroughly recommend them - just found the invoice and it was £330 all in (cambelt, waterpump, coolant and VAT at 17.5% )

How about an S3? And does the fact it's stage 2+ have any affect? i.e sooner?

At audi its £329 for cambelt and £80 for the waterpump i would know :( just had a £1000 service

I got mine for £140  Got the cambelt kit inc water pump for about £90 and paid my mechanic £50, sorted.

£325 Inc parts, ( Gates belt kit, which is what's inside an audi OE box! New 8 vein water pump, coolant, and a health check up on the rest or the car, by an ex Audi trained and time served tech.. And done in about 2 hrs! Happy days.

I have a 05 2.0T quattro and it had only 35'000 miles and I got it done. Paid £400 for Cambelt kit and waterpump all in, that was London prices hence why a bit more....
