im sure you can do this but im gonna ask,

Iv lost a key, Iv got a new set of locks, but can i get the lost key fob removed from the set up?
Im changing the locks as i lost it in my private car park compound and we have a few neighbors who i would concider a bit dodgy, so its got to be in the hands of someone who knows its mine but has decided to keep it for what ever reasons, or they would have handed it back to me by now.

more news as it comes in.

When you program new remotes to the vehicle you specify how many. So say you program 2 then only those 2 will work.

All previous ones are wiped :)

yeh as above, the reprogramming procedure wipes the old keys, and you need all the current keys present when you program them.

Doesnt help your immo though mate iirc from my B6 S4 which was same as 8P, so ideally until you recode with immo aswell on new key, then you ideally need to disable the car ignition.

Also the immo chip may not recode if its from an A3 8P as they're once use only & when we tested an A3 key on an A4 B6 for remote functions, it wouldnt work even if same frequency, it would appear the signals sent were different between the chassis & we tried many times correctly as we recoded the old ones back.

If he is replacing the keys then the immobiliser will be coded anyway or the new keys will not work.

Come again, he's using a key from an A3 Tim afaik, so that may not prove fruitful, of course if he gets new keys & goes to dealer then of course immo will be done, but not with a used set as you know matey :)

Ah yer its from a 02 A3, the key iv got for my car has a part number of 8Z0 837 321 and the A3 is 4D0 837 231A so im ******* against the wind?

What has sprung to mind is if i do get a new key cut and programmed to the car then the old key wont open the doors by remote and the chip wont start the car by imob anyway right? So who ever has the key cant open by remote and cant start the car + if i change the door lock then entry is totally removed ?

Also would a 2nd hand key with the same part number be any good with connection with the chip for the imob ?

lmfao this is a conspiracy, he's testing us for his master plot against the vag community.

LoL, Don't worry lads, When I take over the world at the end of 2012 I will be sure to save you some great garages to serve and protect your Audis in, Remember its the 21st December that I take over, :asskicking:

But on a serious note, i did learn a few things in this thread, iv also learnt how exposed we all really are if we lose a key!

Ahh bistro, all becomes clear now
