S3 bluetooth phonebook??

I have just bought a 07 S3 with bluetooth and sat nav.

My phone can connect to car and i can answer calls but i cant get phonebook up and i have to get phone out to dail.

Can this be done, if so how.

Try clearing your call/dialled history and try connecting again. This worked for my HTC.

All depends what kind of phone you have and if its fully compatible........most phones connect to the bluetooth no probs BUT there is a limited amount that can access the phonebook. Lexus have exactly the same problem.....my dad has an ISF and only 5 phones will connect properly including accessing the phonebook. E-mail Audi for the full list of phones that show you exactly what they can and cannot do. If anyone has it on ASN then great.

Make sure the car is trusted on your phone otherwise it won't share it.

im also having problems with my bluetooth i can press the mode button and my phone book wil come up for me to scroll through it and i can call someone this way, i can also tell the car a number and it will dial it but i cant seem to store a number when ever i say the word store after telling the car the name and number it just adds star and 4 to the end of the number anyone else have this problem? i have an iphone4 by the way if for some reason the phone might affect this.

Also has to be coded for comfort function to show the phonebook.

How do access this speech function?
i have an MY10 S3 with factory bluetooth and updated RNSE.

Is this an option or should it be standard?

Speech function is another extra, iirc. It's the button on the right-hand spoke of the steering wheel (mirror opposite of Mode). You press it and it asks for a command, like "dial number" etc.

i press the speech button and it beeps at me and displays "speak" on the DIS.
Does this mean I have the option or not?

Not sure. Pretty sure mine says it through the speakers, I'll check tomorrow.

yeah mine displays speak on the radio and goes beep after it beeps say help and it will tell you a list of comands you should be able to say dial number then it will ask for the number.

Mine does exactly this too!!!
Nothing I say will make it respond.
After the wee bong the SPEAK disappears and the music turns back on.

Any thoughts on what's going on??

Afraid that's the limit of my knowledge, maybe it just needs re-coded?
