This may sound strange to some, but after 7 weeks of RS3 ownership and Warrens RS3 replica coming onto the scene ive decided to sell the RS3.,

After the manual TTRS I was hoping that I would experience the same cringe in the nuts kind of feeling with the Rs3, but frankly I was left deflated.

It's a great car, but the DSG makes the car feel so disconnected and not something I was happy with. On the plus side I kept my loss to a minimum so it was a cheap journey.

If you have an s tronic S3 I'm sure you'd love th RS3 but if you're like me and prefer a stick, then avoid the RS3

Nice honest opinion! I do sort of understand what you mean. My S3 is my first ever S-Tronic or automatic car and I sometimes feel the same way about that. However, I love the instant gear changes, etc, LOL.

thank you for this expensive review ( glad i cant afford one now )

heh, well bad news DSG is here to stay, and I forsee most top end Audi's DSG only :(, Personally I love DSG...... Wish you luck on your next car :)

It's a fab gearbox, but as an alternative to a TTRS its a no no from me..

Launch control is flipping awesome though

From the time when we had chance to take out a customers car last year we were left deflated but as it was such a long wait we went through with a deal to get our hands on one. Having driven it several times trying different combinations using flappy and sport mode it just didnt give you that wobbly leg adrenaline feeling that you got in our previous manual TTRS.

Ok it was tuned up but still it's not got the same feeling it's a different driving position and in all honesty there wasnt loads of room in the back for the kids. I never wanted rid of the TTRS anyway as it was my dream car

I adore the S-tronic gearbox its amazing and makes the car so easy to abuse. Cant live without it its so good and pleasurable to drive but each to their own as they say:p.

We test drove one last year and again over a remapped TTRS there wasnt much in it....
Wow! I'm surprised by that, but i suppose the TTRS is no slouch standard. So what's the criteria? At least as fast as the TTRS, manual, and beautiful. Shouldn't be too difficult. :uhm:

You can always cram kids into the back of the TT!!

To be fair mines only 16mths so will get at least a few years out the RS.

Plus I just sit even closer to the wheel when she is in (which isnt that often!) which gives her more room!

Is the Rs3 the quickest Audi production? it has been recorded numberous times at 0-60 in 3.8/3.9 secs, and map it to stage one, prob hit 0-60 in 3.5 secs on a good day

Parked next to a R8 convertible V10 in that metallic white they do outside PC world the other day..........sod driving it, just listen to it :) Mind you i could see the envious look in the guys eye when he saw mine :)

I'd want a shot of a DSG S3 before I really made my mind up but after having driven an R8, A4 & A3 all with DSG its still a big no from me!
If only they had made a manual 3dr RS3 it would give me something to look forward to owning as I don't think I'd have a TTRS either.

Our kids are 9 and 6 and both had to sit in the back with legs up in the TTRS and with kits seats their legs are up higher...Andrew sits low on the floor with the seat well back (no problem when its just me driving) so even the youngest is starting to get uncomfortable.

Dated? You must be having a laugh

TBH Nate I dont think it will fit in our unit entrance as they are wide

As we've mentioned in the past we don't want the ECU cracked open to obtain a remap and it could be a long time until one gets sorted via the OBD

[h=1]2007 Audi RS4 Rs4 Quattro FASH-JUST DONE,NEW BRAKES,SAT NAV,BOSE,BUCKET SEATS,1 OWNE…[/h]
How about something more practical then? No worries about the room, Fast, Ruggedly handsome rather than beautiful, and change left over for mods.

Lol test drove one of them too and it was sluggish compared to the TTRS....keep trying Paul :D Got an M3 here now with DCT but again not floating our boat looks and sounds beautiful though!

Ha! First time i've heard an RS4 described as sluggish! You must be spoilt. I,d say Mercedes black, but expensive, and a mercedes. A friend of mine has a Cayenne GTS and loves it, but they're a bit marmite. I thought you had your eye on a solar orange sportback?

The salesman thought we were insain too! Its that 5 cylinder sound and yes we've been spoilt

Andrew has a merc 350CLS on contract hire for another 7 months and I dont like the styling (mantle piece clock in the dash lol). Its quick tuned up and we've also considered a C63 AMG as they are reasonable on contract hire at the moment.

We dont hold on to cars very long as we get bored so its finding something that does it for us thats at the right price, spec and residule value after 6 months or so.

Solar Orange SB - I want to see it in the flesh first so looking to pop down to Leeds at the weekend where they've got a hatch (too pricey) but I can take a closer look at the paintwork. Problem with the SB is that I would want the alloys changed straight away and thats not the point of buying a car as the standard silver ones just dont suit it. We've also got concerns about when it comes to re-selling as its a colour not many have the guts to go for; its a sportback and there is the new A3 coming out soon. So basically if we waited a little longer the prices on the S3's are going to drop and is there another colour out there that I might like better??!!!

Pretty sure I know of one tuning company that has remapped an RS3

MSC and Revo both can do it but only by cracking opening up the ECU

Guess you will love the M1 then

Test drove that too in November I quite liked it actually much more involving...again the residules have dropped quite a bit on those

Nope.

I may have seen a older one, not sure if the front has been facelifted recently but that's what i thought.

The V10 has different LEDs in the headlights. I'm so shocked you think it looks dated, literally speecless

Yet to get anything really wide in my unit yet, got a F458 I look after, but always go to him.

Probs due to the fact it was the V8 I saw about 3yr old which doesn't look as good as the V10!

Andrew can tell you what happened when he took the R8 out for a test drive! Let's just say he wasn't driving it on the way back lol and we'll never let him forget ha ha

I maybe back into an Audi this weekend

After looking at various cars this last week including

M3 DCT

BMW 640D

RS3

Ive decided that the only car that less than £50k thats as good as ive had in the past is this..
