Guys

So I've been feeling a little disillusioned with the TTS for a bit
and I have been given a pretty good deal on a brand new S3, but I am still yet
to make a decision and wanted your opinions?

Firstly, the reasons for
moving from the TTS:

1) Manual box, going 2+ would require messing about
with the clutch which I don't want to do

2) Modding a TTS compared to an
S3 is a lot more expensive ie. no second hand market for the TTS

3)
current warranty runs out in August

4) decided I want RNS-E now, my TTS
doesn't have it

5) would be trading back in 18 months anyway due to
residuals on a 40k mile + TTS being too low

Now the deal for a brand new
S3 means I would be paying pretty much the same as on the TTS for a brand new
car. Dealer is paying deposit for me and its an S-Tronic, Black Edition with
every extra except buckets.

Reasons for:

1) S-Tronic therefore
going 2+ won't be an issue with the clutch

2) 3 year warranty, peace of
mind

3) modding should be easier as parts readily available

4)
brand new car!

Are there any other issues for or against either car you
can think of?

Whats the tax situation?

Still yet to see whether
insurance makes a difference..

Any particular colour I should go for?

S3 all the way if you want practicality otherwise TTS is greater track car with better handling. I personally dont see the point getting 2 seater unless its secondary car for you.

My 2p

The S3 feels pretty much the same performance wise as I have had both at stage 2 +.

I think if you don't need the seats the TTs always feels far more special but as you have said S-tronic and the extra tune will be new to you and is much faster than stage 1.

Its a tough one really but seems like a good deal to get into a new car, when in the same sort of position I would just ask for another £1,000 making the offer far too good to refuse or best of all for it to come specced with Buckets as this really makes a big difference to the cabin ambience.

Try it on they may say yes, oh and another plus point tyres are also much cheaper on the S3 as a standard size £120 versus £160.

expect to pay no more than 30-31k for full speced car. Prices are very low for the S3 atm dealers are willing to give 10% off the retail value. S-tronic is amazing giving you extra pop every time you change gear and so effortless when you in relaxing mood.

Best colours..... Ibis white, phantom black is nice but hard to live with if neither I'd go for orange;)

Thanks guys

Ok so they are giving me 8% discount

They say that as the new regestration year comes in March, my car will take a greater hit so are advising a deal before March (obviously they want a deal lol)

They are paying £1750 deposit for me already on the list price of the car and the 8% discount. I would be using Audi Finance again, so do you think I should be expecting more of a discount?

We traded our TTS in for our current S3 SB.
Our daughter was growing up fast and needed more rear legroom.
The S3 was in stock, at the right spec and the deal worked out so it was the obvious choice.
Very happy with the move, much more practical but still has good punch and Quattro grip.

Thanks...the 3 year warranty is what is swaying me at the moment

145 quid buddy for 6 month I belieive or 245 per year

Thanks mate

Do people think the new S3 coming next year will have much effect on residuals? My GFV is @ roughly £16k
