How much money is enough to retire?

A bloke I work with now and again put in for early retirement,they said 'yes,we will sort the details out',in the meantime we got loads more orders so they said sorry you have to stay.i like to remind him when he annoys me that he could be retired

It would be good to retire, but personally speaking, I think so many of us would be bored. Most people have such active lives these days, but in the vackground we have the routine of work to keep us functioning on a daily basis. Yes, it would be a novelty to just get up and do what we like when we like and not worry about the financial side of things, but ultimately we need some sort of structure and that will always be the
downside of retirement. It doesnt stop us wanting it though.
