Thought i Would Make A progress time line of the S3..

My previous car was an Arctic Astra Vxr, which i loved. In 6 months it was sitting at stage 3 (300bhp-310bhp) But with vauxhall the car started to be unhealthy so decided to change it.

Here is the VXR...

Then Bought the Audi..

Never knew cars where so amazingly built. The drive to get there was sad as i was going to be leaving my vxr, was a amazing drive down. Left Aberdeen at 3pm and was in Leeds at 9pm for the garage opening. One the way back up, never felt a more smoother car. The power delivery and the ride, OMG....

As most people say, the ride hight on the S3 is not that great.. So got my self the H&R kit from GNJ Motorsport (aka Graeme) And the car hight was changed. As this wasn't enough for the stance, Graeme sorted me out with some Forge 11mm Spacers, and the stance was achieved..

As from the Photo above the stance is really really  love it..

The next step is more handling. The H&R FARB and RARB are taking my interest.

Just out of question, has anyone changed the look of their fog panel to a honey comb style??

Cheers peeps.

Loving your Tangerine Dream, Ilim! She's a beauty for sure, ..but PLEASE get yourself some detailing gear and don't let those guys wash it for you again, lol. BTW nice Arctic, very similar to my previous car. xx

EDIT Glad to hear you've got some detailing stuff for when the weather improves :) xx

Cheers mate. I love the orange colour mate, stands out so much, theres only 2 in aberdeen. Just the Springs mate, coil overs are a waste of time and money.

For future, i like to do handling upgrades first adn then power. But slightly worried about the warranty with a remap and exhaust system. As a key factor for me selling the vxr was the warrenty went out the window due to a forge Rec valve..

Do u have the s3 in solar orange?

Thanks Paullie, we have to have bright colours for aberdeen. Really Really dull here. I have plenty of Cleaning stuff hun, as said, its to ****** cold at the moment :cold: but come summer she will be getting a 1 week detail of TLC.... We should get a Photo-shoot for the cars :hubbahubba:

Got that round the wrong way! Beautiful car and lovely colour.

Why have coilovers when u cant get over speed bumps, never going to be on a track, springs are best for day to day driving, i think, but everyone is to their own taste. :footy:

Yeah mines solar orange if you look on my page you should find my thread. With regards to the warranty mine runs out this year being 3 years old so I went straight to revo for a stage 1 map totally transforms the car also iv fitted a forge DV and Forge twin air intake. I'm lucky tho because theres a VAG specialist 200 meters down from me and there forge and milltek suppliers. But like you said warranty goes out the window when you map it but it's up to you

Yeah true, i think ill wait till warranty finishes then unleash the bank account on it :jester: as said, the vxr warranty went out the window, had a contact in Kemnay but back-stabbed me... So since then been taking the stealers promises with a large large pinch off salt :puke2:

most cars I see with springs have reverse rake unless the right combination of springs is selected. any thoughts on the matter?

Coilovers improve the complete ride, and are height adjustable, so you can drive them as high or low as you want! I've had experience of both.

Its just the quality of the ride, more stiff = more noise inside the cabin etc...:jump:

Btw How much did your RS3 grill cost you? Is the price equal to a FTB system

i wouldn't say that I've been running coilovers on my A3 since the beginning of last year near enough not had any noises at all and they still waaaaaaaaay more comfortable that the oem set and my car has zero RR that plagues the 8P nose down ftw

some ****** polish wingnut touching your car! ahhhhhh helll no

Sooner or later you will need to improve hadling and coilovers are TOP!!!

OMFG, we both love Solar Orange & agree on Coily's, that will forever be in my memory, lmfao.

Always loved this colour on the 8P with the right bodykit, namely S3, now get some black on there.

Nice car mate!

I'm with you on the coilovers debate. Getting Eibachs kit to reduce RR, then getting Koni FSD's next year. After an episode trying to free up corroded parts after a year because I'd never adjusted them once (!) I gave up and returned to springs/dampers! If you show your car I get it, but I'm a lazy oaf who can be doing with hassle. Fit and forget!

Why being rasist for mate?

Fair shout Matt, keep it clean and above board everyone.

Whilst Im sure these comments are being made in gest, let's be fair whilst these cleaning centres might not clean your cars to the standards you'd want, unlike a significant percentage of our indolent British nationals who sign on specially so that they don't miss the factual entertainment programme Jeremy Kyle, and wouldn't pick up a sponge to wash themselves let alone a car, these guys work ****** hard in all conditions before we even get on to the issue of race.

I know quite a few Polish people and they seem decent, have an open minded outlook and are certainly less blinkered than many who like to pigeon hole and categorise! If the shoe was on the other foot.....

Edit: P.S. my Dad and his family are all from Germany so no mention of the war or 1966 either ;-)

Nice build thread! I really like bright colours one of my STs was orange and I must admit it was great for few months until I got massive bonnet stone chip and none of the chips away guys wanted to repair it due to paint issues! I assume its not metallic is it? Good mods nevertheless put your hands on some remapping unit asap to enjoy full engine potential:]. Good luck!

true fact Warren, you cant really expect great finish when let someone to do your car at a rubbish valeting place where people are paid £5.25/h:shrug:. You get what you pay for at the end of the day:].

I have got v maxx coil overs first time for me with them always had springs in the past
No complaints yet, you cant ask for comfort when your car is smashed with a 50-60mm drop

warren once fitted do you have to adjust to avoid corrosion? i am also a lazy sob lmao

It helps to keep them moving, but supposedly the newer ones are better as they have more corrosion resistant finishes. I think you need to ensure (especially if you jet wash the car), that you apply a spot of some sort of anti seize or lube to the moving parts occasionally as part of maintenance programme to keep them fully operable.

Seeings I struggle to find the will to empty a catch can for my daily driver the suspension has no chance!

lmao....i guess a routine 4-6 month inspection will be adequate?

Damn
Having a audi and being lazy dont mix, add the high maintenance wife and its a recipe for a nervous breakdown

btw love the orange fella...looks awesome on a sb with orange/black scheme

I washed my car at the weekend and i'm in ABZ.. You just need to keep spraying it down with the pressure washer to keep it properly wet and not just little drops of water.. Once you dry it off it can then freeze up a bit, but seeing a clean car at the end of it is nice!

Car looks good mate, almost bought a solar orange one myself but my Ibis White came up at a price i couldn't refuse..

Are you in the city centre much? Will keep a look out for you if you are..
