Seeing as I've got a new (but weirdly old) car, and nobody can ***** about the efficiency of K03s's anymore due to Mylo's destruction of various S3's at the weekend I may as well bump this back up.
After the A3 I bought an IMMACULATE one owner from new full main dealer history Clio 172, fitted a RARB to it and remapped it. Then spent a lot of time and money tidying it up. It was a properly properly brilliant car. I miss it very much. But I got fed up with the ****y attitude of certain forum members, and the fact that Clio RS owners all seem to be jobless chavs.
I was toying with the idea of selling Oliver the Clio.
In hindsight I should never have sold it...I loved it and it was great.
Then a few days after that an IMMAULATE E36 landed in my lap at work for peanuts.
Within 48 hours of collecting it I had decked it on coilovers and fitted a refurbished set of BBS RC's.
I loved it...
I sold the car I was so desperate to own and loved to much to facilitate Lou getting the 500. I do miss the BM now, it was such a great car and I put a lot of work into it in the short time I had it to make it special.
But now I have a new project
My girlfriend has had this for the last four years. It used to look like this -
Then I fitted a set of coilovers to it.
Then I fitted a TIP, 007p and downpipe and had it mapped to stage 1 at R Tech. This was back in 2009!
Prawn did an N249 bypass and PCV delete, I did a polybush dogbone and fitted a new Jetex.
Whilst we were working Bob perfected his meerkat impressions.
Then I fitted an Eibach RARB to it.
Lou purchased a set of pimp wheels. I got a set of spacers and all that good looking jazz for it.
And that's how it sat as her 225bhp daily driver for the best part of two years. Being serviced to death by me and being looked after regardless of cost because it was such a good car.
Lou decided she might like a new car because within the next 3 years the A3 will need a new VR6 clutch and the cambelt doing at the end of it, so we got her a Fiat 500.
I collected lots of bits -
And have slowly but surely over the last two weeks made it epic.
It's been serviced again (6k interval), new plugs and all that tosh. Had a load of split hoses replaced with shiny blue ones, it's had all sorts in the last two weeks.
I gave it an EPIC clean with Pierre (Frenchman) who is potentially the only person I've ever met as dedicated to the bucket and wash mitt as I am.
I swapped my number plate onto it last week.
I fitted an intercooler the other day and mashed the front bumper so a new one was sourced thanks to ScottB5 who is a LEGEND.
I resprayed it in the shed like a true piston head.
Now luckily it's a pre facelift bumper...Because I HATE facelifts; for years I've hated this car due to it's glitzyness and shocking interior. I will slowly but surely convert it to being like a pre facelift and less hateful.
I also mashed the MAP sensor when fitting the FMIC, so a new one was sourced. But upon inspection the old one just needed a clean and the wires reconnecting in the plug.
Straightened up my pipes.
Fixed my MAP sensor in place properly, no pics of that.
Sanded down and trimmed the inside of the new bumper down...It's difficult to comprehend just quite how much I've taken off if you've never seen the inside of an 8L bumper...But that's a f**k load.
This is the mess it made -
Which left me with this -
Fitted it, and it looks gangster as f**k.
Drilled some holes for my Audi-Sport plate holders...Courtesy of our very own Mr Seamons.
Chipped the bumper refitting the grill...Boooo
Went to see Prawns dad/Big Bad Dad.
Did a quick instagram whilst having a cup of tea and lol'ing at ******* on forums.
Went and did some logging, and it's peak flow was 186g/s which is 232.5BHP which is healthy stage 2 figures...But my car is only stage 1 Car is much quicker now mid range, rather than a peak and then tailing off it seems to hold power for about 1500rpm more and it is much much smoother. Before it was super fast spool up and bang in your face, where as now it is much more progressive, a little bit more lag which balances out the revs a lot nicer. I knew all this anyway.
All in all I am super happy. I MUCH prefer the pre-facelift bumper and grill, and I just need to spray the IC pipes black and I'm officially a winner winner chicken dinner.
I've got the Milltek of Prawns track car to go on it at the end of the month, then it's WMI and off up to Niki for some 250bhp K03s goodness.
