Ok so I've done this a bit backwards. I have a nice diesel 'toy' and I've decided to go for a 1.8t Quattro Audi a4 avant as a daily. There will be a few updates required but all in, it's pretty decent as is

Comes pretty well specced with leathers, xenons, cruise etc. it's already booked in to be mapped, and next weekend, the exhaust tips will be getting cut off and replaced with something a bit more manly looking. Then maybe a few wee oem+ mods

One small problem, the headlight washers don't work if anyone has any advice

Nice looking avant, have you any water under the car by the headlight washers ?

nice looking car and a good spec straight out of the box as well

If I try to use them? Will have a check tomorrow. Should I be able to manually lift them out the bumper?

Silly Question Alert !!
What have you done to work them ?

Switched on the lights and sprayed the screen for over a second.

That's what it says in the manual.
On previous cars, you could fold the bumper flap back by hand. I can't on this. Didn't try too hard, but was just wondering.

I had to change the washer head on mine ( 60 quid ) it's a ****** to pull up,I'd show a pic but my desktops knackered.
I'd try vagcat to see a detailed pic

Nice clean example :)

Out if curiosity, what's your diesel "toy" ?

Copied this from another forum and forgot that no-one hear knows me

Its a MK4 Ibiza Cupra Tdi with a GTB2256vk, full rebuild, Firad injectors, full TB exhaust, custom intercooler, and a huge pile of other stuff.
Runs approx 280bhp, 500lb/ft
And can still manage 50mpg if you try :icon_thumright:

I haven't physically checked yet, but the manual says that the headlight washers and screen washers are operated off the same fuse.

nice motor

is it supposed to have headlight washers or has someone put the bumper on but not plumbed the washers in? just a thought :)

It's got xenons so I imagine they would be oem fitment washers.

Nice Car, Have a look under the passenger front wheel arch near the door, if there is water running down there the pipe has popped off. It's a bit of a pig to push back on. there is a little connector between 2 bits of pipe right up inside the wheelarch. This leads to the rear washer. Otherwise the back washer will need washing. To take the cover off just pull gently on the edge off the cover and it will pull off, the the washer jet just pops off the top of the nut. You can then give it a good clean. I can't help on the front washers though sorry.
Based on it not being the fuse!
