Hi all,

Just got myself a full set of 11mm forge spacers from Warren (cheers pal).
Can anyone recommend or point me in the right direction as to where to get the appropriate size length locking nuts?

I have genuine A3 18" bbs splits and believe the offset is 54. I know my current locking nuts will not fit once the spacers are on. I had a quick measure of my current lock nut and it is about 26-27mm and of the radius type nuts.

Will 40mm length ones be ok or will they be too long? Taking into account there will be about an extra 2mm going into the hub.

Your advice will be much appreciated on where and what brand to buy and also sizes etc.
Also will I still be able to use my Audi plastic bolt covers?

Cheers in advance all, and sorry if this has been asked before.

Danny

McGuard do them.

That's good because the alternative ones I looked at were pap. Halfords who stock mcGard said they didn't list them in their catalogue but I should ha e known better than to trust them!

Audi plastic caps will work on extended bolts and the round ones should work on mcgards.

Just checked their website LINK

Supposedly they do 34 or 44mm in radius head (needed for OEM wheels). Given that you are adding 11mm and your nuts are 27mm I'd be inclined to go with 44.

Just seen that too Warren, but am thinking they may be a bit too long?
44mm minus 27mm(current length) minus 11mm(spacers) will leave me with an extra 6mm of thread on top of what is already going into the hub?? Hope that made sense, haha!

Sorry mate. I don't supply mcgard. I got mine on eBay in the end as I found some for £18 or £20.

No probs.

what offset wheels and size spacers are on your a3 if you don't mind telling me? And did the bolts fit with no issues?

Ordered some Mcgard 28025 from demontweets, cheers Rob for pointing me to the right ones. These are radius type, 41mm long so should do the job.

Now just waiting for the spacers from Warren. Can I just say a big thanks To warren_cox for selling to me. A really top top bloke who has been very helpful. Many tanks fella, a credit to this site along with many others. :beerchug:

No probs at all mate, a pleasure to help out.

With respect to your delivery it's coming via parceline tomorrow. When I checked the receipt for the tracking no. it doesn't have one, it just has a barcode number which I'll text you now.

Any probs tomorrow just let me know as the parcel is insured / sign for.

Warren is a lovely man, a wonderful husband, and an asset to Berkshire

 Trying to take after you lot :)

If you mean the Audi round cover for the lock nuts, they don't fit the McGuards, I've tried!

****** hell, they looked a similar dimension of roundness so I thought they should fit. Is nothing standardised in this world!! 57 flavours of everything!

McGuard ones are slightly bigger than OEM annoyingly!

Typical!!!

I have got some spare ones so may try to cut a small strip to give it more flexibility to push over. Worth a try?

Nice one mate.

Will post up some pics for all to see when everything comes and i have done my expensive mod with my caps!

OK, so i recieved my spacers from Warren in super quick time, also my longer 40mm bolts and Mcgard 28025 41mm raidus type lock nuts. Thet all fitted in no problem with no catching on the back.
Stance looks so much better now!!

With regards to the cover caps, the hex ones fitted the new bolts no problem, BUT the round locking ones were to big for the Mcgard and would simply just fall off!!
However....I did manage to mod mine so they were a perfect fit!!

I will post some pics of my cars new stance when the frost decides to melt of my car!

With regards to my mod of the lock bolt covers, I will start a new thread as I am sure many have had a similar problem.

Spot on mate, glad to hear you've got it all sorted Danny!!
