What a legend!

Just on the train back from the emirates where Thierry Henry came on for the last 25 mins for his return to Arsenal. The lad was on the pitch for ten minutes before he'd scored. The Emirates went fkn mental.

Even just by warming up he had the croud on their feet and singing, great atmosphere.

It's such a shame that all it takes is 1 person to get 60K supporters singing when the rest of the team (bar van persie) can't even manage half of that excitement!

I hope that some of Henry's class rubs off on the youngsters because Arsenal football club needs something like that every weekend.

Oh and my throat hurts a lot now from all the singing and cheering :(

Dave you have gone down in my estimations. Fkn Spurs!!

Great goal, great player and one of the reasons why Arsenal are the next team I look out for after Liverpool

Henry is a legend. I don't even support Arsenal but you just watch in awe of the scenes he creates! How long before we see Bergkamp back in an Arsenal shirt then. Surely that's on the cards seeing how desperate Wenger is!

Unfortunately I think it's a little bit too late for Dennis but he was my favourite Arsenal player as I was growing up. I know he didn't score as many goals as Thierry but my god were some of his goals good!

This is still (to me) the best goal, technically i've ever seen:

Blatant foul on the defender by Dennis... well it would be now days.

Henry's chip and turn against united is right up there for me..

He needs to ditch the beard though.

Players get too much protection in todays game, it winds me up!

More luck then anything I think but it was against Man United so it's definitely up there ;)

He looks like his head is on upside down ;)

Can't take it away from him. Great goal from a great player. I do however find myself wondering though, is he (Wenger) now hailed as a hero again right off the back of Arsenal fans wanting his head? Lets consider the unthinkable and lets say that Leeds had won with the Arsenal side remaining goal-less. Would the addition of Thierry Henry to the side be regarded as the act of a desperate man? Maybe, maybe not, but it would have been an interesting scenario. I guess we'll never know now.

You are right there. The problem with all football fans is a lot of them are very naive when it comes to players and their performances. It's easy to get on a players back when they're not performing.

The best example of this is Spurs fans! One minute they are calling for the heads of goalkeeper Gomez and striker Pavlyuchenko. The next thing you know, Gomez is "the best keeper in the league" and they're all singing "super, super Pav"!!! They also did a good job of getting rid of Martin Jol after a poor start to the season even though the year before he'd got Spurs into the Champions League for their first ever time! Idiots!!!!

Obviously Arsenal fans were sad to see Henry leave and head to Barca but he had won everything at Arsenal except the Champions League and he was coming to the closing years of his career.

I think that even if your scenario above had happened it would still be beneficial having Henry around the club due to his presence and experience.

It's like he never left! I was a bit optimistic of his return to the gunners though, look what Scholes did for Man United on his return, concede 2 goals, hardly anything to shout about, but Thierry Henry is just pure class! :footy:

Yes, you can ask a crowd of fans to shout out names of the worlds best ever footballers, and it wouldn't be long before Henry would be called out.

Let's get a bit of perspective going here, shall we? Henry is still class, no doubt about it, and yes, it's wonderful when a legend returns to a club, comes on as sub, and scores the winner, and yes, it was a terrific finish.

But this was the third round of the FA Cup, against a Championship side. It wasn't Barca in the later stages of the Champions League, was it?

It doesn't matter what game it is I just posted last night about the atmosphere in a usually dead Emirates and how one man can make such a difference to it.
