S3 MY12 Panther Build thread: The End; it's been emotional!

Subtle... The only good way to modify a car! Looking forward to piccies. :respekt:

Absolutely marvelous Warren. Thnx for sharing. I am also thinking of mounting wheels from an RS3. Given that RS3's rears are 8in. ET 50, I will get those, to avoid possible rubbing.
Can't wait to read your impressions on the new wheels.

Enjoy your car mate!

Here's a photo of the wheels on a S3 SB from a German forum. The guy has lowered the front by 20mm with Eibach springs.

Thanks for sharing, interesting to see how it looks. Front desperately needs dropping the 20mm. Looking nice & flush.

Oofft! They'll look great as I think 19's just look so much better on the S3. Keeping it real and OEM, good work fella.

Be interested to know offline the hassle you had not having the standard rims on at time of trade in. My experience is they don't even look at the car. I sold the original BE 7 arm twin spokes and despite the number of BE's with them, there never seems to be a set for sale. The S3 is getting changed later this year, more than likely traded in, and I'm planning on using the winters, S Line /RS6's in anthracite.

Looking forward to seeing the 19s on the car, when will you drop the front? Been thinking along the same lines :yum:

One question Warren, assuming you use playlists on your RNS-E SD cards.
Do you playlists play in succession?
Here's my problem:
http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/new-a3...sis/143914-rns-e-ii-playlists-problem-sd.html

Through AMI, playlists play in succession in alphabetical order as they should.

thnx in advance
aki

Not sure, I'll check

ASAP, before end of Jan. only doing fronts. Then later whacking some Koni FSD's in.

Just noticed the purchase in the sale section, congrats.

Have been dying to see if and how those RS3 alloys would fit the S3. Get a picture up as soon as the gyres are fitted.

Good buy Warren.

Hello mate, have you got a link to the original post? Great stance and almost looks as those the back has been lowered also. If I can accomplish the same stance with just front lowered on Eibach's with my 19's, I may just go for that!

Cheers, KKP

8) Audi RS3 Alloy Wheel Upgrade

Right then dawgs, I'm pleased to say that due to working with a very ethical seller I now have my RS3 rims.

Seems once they were sold (to me), that he received a barrage of people who were suddenly interested and prepared to pay up, but the guy was an absolute top man and said the shake of his hand is bond! Full of win.

Anyhooooo, back to the plot.

Rolling on 18's looked something like this:

And rolling on RS3 19" rims looks like this:

And who says an inch can't make a difference!!

The 19's just look right.

There is very little difference other than the extra inch, but I've taken a few side shots to give some further perspective of the change.

Here are the 18's side on

P1040060.JPG

And the 19's

P1040072.JPG

Granted, again it's a subtle difference, but one that takes it from looking like the wheels are just slightly to small, to making them right. The touch of extra dish just removes the slight flatness from the cars side on profile.

So I've spent a wodge of cash, and am I happy? To be fair I am. Other than the 25mm front lowering to be done at APS in the next couple of weeks it is about right cosmetically. I have one further little mod to make in the next couple of weeks to the looks, but I'll keep that in the bag for now!!!

OEM+ all the way!

18 & 19 side by side: hard to tell a big difference, but the perspective of the 18 being closer to the camera doesn't help

It's all good mate got all the gadgets sorted that I wanted fbmsw, cruise and Bluetooth. Just waiting for little bit of funds to fit my front s-line bumper rear black edition and I would like a set of alloys like yours but we will see. It's the Gf birthday this weekend going to Paris so have to hold off for a little while.

OH YESSSSSS!!!! You totally hit the spot right there, ..no question that the extra inch makes ALL the difference, lol. Exquisite! xx

haha inch obsession is so common nowdays:]. Wonder if the ride isnt crashy as even on 18` I struggle sometimes on rough surface.

Actually its better as the Uniroyal tyres have softer walls than the Bridgestone Potenzas. And no rear rub!!!!!

But Paddy, you must be able to see for yourself from Warren's pics the massive difference the 19's make over the 18's on an aesthetic level?? it's HUGE!!  xx

I love it...

I saw those rims on here and did think about buying them as a spare set for my RS3..

They totally transform the look of the car Warren

10/10 from me :)

****** !!!!!.....I just tell myself that my Speedlines look better than any other wheel, and then you do this and totally blow that out of the water.

I'll have to start listening to Mrs Shadowman when she says that 1 inch can make a difference :)).....those look absolutely perfect in my eyes.

The 18's were too flat in profile and too small, but the slight dish, the extra inch and consequently the slimmer edge to the spokes just makes them look superb !!..and they don't get lost with the black colour of the car either.

Nice work Warren....they really look good.....you must be chuffed.

Just Perfect Warren! I have to do this mod....Thnx for posting.
cheers

They look amazing! You can see the difference for sure. 18's seem to be the new 17's these days as well common on lots of cars.

Love your car mate! Enjoy reading your posts.

Keep it up.

:beerchug:

Its a very nice difference, the 18" rotors look a bit chunky in comparison. The larger wheel size has nicer thinner spokes and because of the increase in size has a nicer concave shape. Spot on warren

I still like the 18's but the 19's do look much sleeker.

Looking forward to seeing what's next!

Thanks for all the kind comments guys, really appreciated.

If any of you want to look into doing the 19" RS3 upgrade let me know and I have a contact who may be able to source them at much better than dealer prices, and they will be OEM.

That looks amazing man, hats off to you! :hi:I've gotta say I'm totally in love with that colour is well, panther black is definitely the way to go! That S3 is pretty much perfect in every way.

Great car with 19's & on purpose or not with the color theme!! :)

 your S3 is looking, how do they say.... f@ck!ng amazing, very nice

I think you should put the 18's back on the front and sell the 19 fronts to me for the back of my car......then we could be US dragsters :)
