jb0o's 2.0TFSI & 3rd A3

Haha, I havent raced anyone yet.. Though Im taking the afternoon off work so I'll see what I can find roaming the streets ;)

We definitely need to sort out a meet Matt, would be good to combine it with an event also.

Drink & drive event you mean?:racer:...................:angrymod:

So, a few days of driving my 2.0TFSI and I've been enjoying the sheer power... so much so that I want more. So much for 6 months, I can see myself getting a remap within a month haha.

Bluefin are still at the reduced price of £365, even though it should've gone back up to £450 at the end of December. :eyebrows:

Don't tempt me, haha.

Been busy on the car this this morning:

- Removed aluminium numberplate surround
- Coming Home / Leaving Home Lights
- Ambient Lights (still need to drill 2x 5mm holes in the light housing cover)

Nice one!

If you are definitely going to end up getting a remap then no point in waiting! Pick a tuner and go for it.

You're right, we'll see what my bank balance looks like at the end of the month and I may treat myself ;)

Not sure if it'll be the Bluefin route mind, got a local tuner who's been turning a lot of heads.

I can add to your funds Johnny if you fancy doing a reverse camera install on mine?? Nice motor by the way!

Nice car, just like mine. the 2.0t dsg is so good, the power is great. When are you planning on installing the white dis cluster and getting a remap?

Thanks Abb!

Funny you should mention a reverse camera as Im currently getting bits together to make a RVC kit. I'll shoot you a PM later on in the week with a price if thats okay. Hope all is well!

Thanks Chris,

I dont want to pay over the odds for the cluster so Im looking to find one from a breakers or on eBay. I've messaged a few today so we'll see what comes of it.

If funds permit I may look to get a remap at the end of this month, but coming from a 1.6 ideally I'd like to appreciate the stock power of the 2.0T for a while before I go for a remap.. We'll just see how I feel, haha.

glad to see your sticking with the A3 mate would love a 2.0tfsi myself as i love the power of them and the noise they make as a DSG gearbox

I am so unsure as to whether to remap as i see it as having enough power but if it feels quick with 200 imagine it with 250!! Just don't know whether to remap but you will have to let me know what it feels like if you go ahead with it ;)

Chris

Trust me, a remap is a must.
The 2.0T is quick in stock form, but after a remap you really notice where it was lacking before.
And if you go for a remap that delivers its power in an OEM type way then the car feels very similar to drive, but in fast forward!

Just hit this thread, nice! Akoya is a secret fave of mine, like Monza! At the time I bought the S3, I couldn't stretch to exclusive paint, otherwise I'd of had Akoya or Monza.

Looks a lovely example, enjoy!

Made a few small mods to the car:

- Added Beep on Lock/Unlock
- Coming Home / Leaving Home Lights
- Retrofit Cup Holder
- Retrofit Ambient Lights
- Removed Aluminium Numberplate Surround

I've also retrofitted the Ambient Lights into the light cluster which works great - I just need to drill 2x 5mm holes in the housing cover and I'll post up a night shot of it.

Also just ordered the S-Tronic gearknob which I'll fit hopefully next weekend.

Finished retrofitting the ambient lights this morning.

Must say I'm not overly impressed. The lights can't really be made out at night, but as it only cost me £11 in parts it wasn't exactly an expensive mod. Still, one for the spec list!

How have you done that i want to do this but i am unsure on the cost and what's involved mate.

Nice car, and a great step up from the 1.6.

Interior light pack adds to the premium feel too.

If you want more mpg you know the obvious next mod......Remap!

You need the LEDs from Audi. About £13: 8E0 919 063 A

Take apart the interior light and it slots in place and the two wires coming from the LEDs connect to two metal terminals.

You'll also need to drill 2x 5mm holes in the cover as my image shows.

Pretty easy mod!

Cheers Warren.

Used up my first full tank last night managed 330miles, which I didnt think was too bad.

Would be nice to get extra power alongside extra mpg though ;)

Got 334 miles last week driving in 'Sunday' mode. And when you need to put your for down, oh boy. The 2.0T is ripe for it :hubbahubba:

Come on Jonny, get that remap sorted.
Nice car by the way, very tidy, in the right colour too.

Springs would be nice too.
Oh, and RNSE.

PS- Cheers for the good work on Sunday BTW.:salute:

Cheers Paul, I know... I've been offered a custom remap off a local chap who's been turn a few heads so I may bite his hand off, just don't know if I'm jumping the gun getting one so soon..

I may get some springs for her - not sure about coilovers though. You just had springs on your S3 didn't you? I loved the stance yours had, looked mint.

RNS-E will come in time, just waiting for a well-priced MK2 ;)

I was well impressed with the iDrive2 in your 3-series!

Yep, H&Rs, 25mm drop.
Tightened things up very nicely and sat perfect. Didnt go as far as spacers due tpo steering rack fears but it would appear that isnt an issue after all.

Really worthwhile mod.
Springs and map and you will have bit of a tool there.

Wonder of NHN could retro fit IDrive 2 in my next VAG????

cheers
Paul

I may have a think about those springs then, Im not sure I wanna spend coilover money so springs would certainly be a good compromise.

It wouldnt suprise me if he could, haha.

I hope you do come back to VAG, I got the impression you seemed pretty comfortable with BMW ;)

I know a chap with some S3 H&Rs for sale if they will fit your 20T??

New 3 series comes with a AWD option for the UK this year.
Will be an interesting proposition.

Nop none of the 4wd springs/coilovers fit 2wd :(

As Sam said, they wont fit :(

AWD BMW sounds very nice, certainly look forward to reading the reviews on them.. No doubt one from yourself in good time ;)

Went for a spot of Snowboarding and a car meet in Leeds on Sunday. Decent day, excluding the fact that I got 3points and a £60 fine for a 393 - Driving on a Central Reservation of a Motorway.

One of the lads managed to get this shot:
