She's getting there, Warren, but not quite finished yet, lol. I need to uprate my dampers as I'm finding the ride of the 25mm H&R's even bouncier than that of my other half's Freelander2 4X4!! So Koni FSD's will be first, then MTM's fitted in the Spring and Shark Performance Stage 3 remap, which is the same as other tuners' stage 2+. There are one or 2 bits sitting in the garage waiting to be fitted, Forge catch can, DV and throttle body silicone hoses, new Autotech HPFP internals and cam follower, but will hold off and get them all fitted at the same time as my uprated shocks, which I've yet to order. Ideally I'd like to buy some new brakes this year too, but still doing my homework on those, lol. Then she will be done, ..but hey I always say that and then think of something else I'd like to do. Love your siggy BTW! xx

I'm doing the bulk of this in the spring when the weather improves a bit and it's got a few more miles on it. Need to see if the misfire popes up it's ugly head first! I was interested in the FSD's, but sure I read somewhere they can only be used at OEM ride height, but it's only a couple of MM difference. I was thinking of doing Eibach springs which drop the from 25mm, then OEM rears as they don't change and FSD's might be OK.

Brakes wise I've been thinking about giving the Forge units a try, but I need to make sure I can go for something that will sit comfortably under 18" winter wheels. Most of the Forge stuff I've got is very good, so thought I'd give theirs a try when the front pads need changing.

Cheers, thought it was about time I put something together!

Hmm, didn't know that about the Koni FSD's. I had FSD's fitted to my VXR which was dropped 30mm and the ride comfort over standard was far superior, eventhough standard VXR shocks were pretty good TBF. It'd probably be a no no to pop them on a car dropped maybe 50-60mm, but as I say, they were great on my last lowered car. :)

Was actually looking at the Forge brake kit earlier today, but no one seems to have the fitted AFAIK, so no reviews as yet. Forge stuff is always amazing, never had a problem with anything I've ever bought from them and the after sales service is second to none. Might be the way to go, ..you wanna go first, lol??? xx

EDIT Warren, I forgot to say before, but there are some German companies on Ebay who actually offer H&R 25mm springs and Koni FSD's in a package deal, so there can't be a problem with using them on slightly lowered cars. It's definitely the way I'm heading, for looks, handling and above all for me, COMFORT, lol. xx

Hard to decide on which things to do first. Know I need to budget for clutch, do suspension and then brakes. As business isn't what it was it's likely going to have to be done over 12-18 months which is a shame as I'd like to do it all in the summer. Have to see How things pan out, but it's highly likely the Forge brakes will be on. Like you I want comfort in the mix so FSD's look to be a must. Cheers for the link.

Looking forward to sorting these wheels for you Paulie!

You betcha, N8! Will be in touch soon about it. I wouldn't trust just anyone with these babies, ..deffo a job for Mr K! xx

Paulie my local, Aberdonian friend! Love the MTM rims, a firm favourite of mine. However, are they not a tad on the heavy side? A very good close friend advised me off these same wheels onto BBS as they tip the scales over the CH/CK by a considerable amount.

I'm not trying to rain on your parade as they'll look class and if you get them 'furbed then they'll be unique, so I'm waiting to see the results, but if it's performance then these will hamper surely? I've never gone performance myself, more everyday looks and drive ability, so maybe the bi-moto's would've been fine, just got bitten by the BBS bug!

Don't get me wrong, I love them; put your stamp on them and they'll be fly. Better than anything local by a mile.

If you've seen the S8 refurbed 20's N8 had for sale (I had been in touch with the young Nath, but my new car plans are pushed by 6 months), then work out some custom 'furb and run with it. Those custom centre caps and grey were top; I hate to think what could be done with these. Well jel as the yoot say. I'll keep a close eye as usual, ;-)

Hey hey Rich! Fit like? I've always been more interested in the aesthetics of my cars than their performance, ..until I found out that I could easily have both, lol. It's true that the MTM's are heavier wheels than the BBS, but since the first time I saw a pic of them on another S3 on here I've been in love with them and when the chance came up to buy a virtually new set, I couldn't pass it up. I don't realistically push the car to its limits in any way, just pootling around town most of the time, so I doubt the bit of extra weight in the wheels will bother me too much. If it does, then I'll go to plan B, which was to get some anthracite CH-R's. The CK's will probably stay as my Winter set, so I still get to have my BBS fix for part of the year (always loved BBS, like yourself). N8's getting back to me this weekend on what magic he's going to work on these and can't wait to hear what he comes up with. He has my wishlist, ..dark (but not as dark as my CK's) yet shiny/glossy with the MTM logo in black (or whatever else he thinks would work). Hope you had a lovely Christmas and New Year, Rich! x

I hate you right about now paullie you have my wheels lol.
Have you seen them bimoto wheels on piston heads 9.5j wide just to wide for my car .
If it was me I would go for a light graffite Gray with a crystal specal in the top coat and the mtm in yellow .

HNY to you! Xmas and NY was manic, back at work for some peace and quiet! Hope you enjoyed the festive period yourself? I hear you on the looks front, a simple map would be as far performance wise I'd go to and after all, you can't go any faster than the speed limits.:busted_cop:

These MTM's should take your car up another level and out of reach. I can't wait to get my CH's back on, just not feeling the winters or 18's. On the plus side, they do look better after I washed the car today however.

Can't wait myself, Warren lol! March sometime for sure, Bro. The roads are still in pretty poor shape, so don't want to put them on too soon, but I know I won't be able to hold off for too long, once I get the back from N8! xx

Fair shout, I got a scratch on one of mine during the strong winds from a bit of branch in the road on a dark country road so best to wait for spring. Winter and cars don't mix. Got a nice salt coating today as it had been snowing in Cheltenham :keule: at least the snow foam lance can come out again!

Bl**dy Winter, indeed!!! So annoying when things like that happen :(. I love snow foam!!! I've got a brand new 5L tank of No Touch Snow Foam in the garage waiting to be cracked open. It's very dark green, unlike the normal clear stuff and is supposed to knock a lot more of the surface dirt off, without removing the protective layers. Hopefully I'll get to use it sometime this week. xx

absolute work of art, me and a mate browsed your thread last night and we were both blown away by one the extent of your mods and two the thought of the expense too, you must have some serious cash haha!

Absolutely love your car Paulie!
Looks fantastic.

I've been a big fan of the MTMs for a long time and always thought they were the perfect fit for pre-facelift S3.
I can't imagine them on a facelift like yours though so really looking forward to seeing them fitted.

Also curious as to the Forge BBk myself.
A lot cheaper than some of the other BBKs on the market but as you mentioned, don't know of anyone who has fitted them and would love a review.

They do look great though!!

Thanks for your lovely words, Dicko. I'm known for my ability to sniff out a bargain, so I hardly ever pay what it says on the ticket for anything, TBH, lol. xx

Thanks so much, Poli! Absolutely love your S3 and everything you've done to it, too! Yeah, I'm seriously considering the Forge BBK. I totally trust the Forge brand and can't personally see them putting their excellent reputation on the line for anything the least bit sub-standard TBH. Think they would do the job perfectly!

I found this pic of the MTM's fitted to a facelift S3, think they look rather sweet! xx
