Sounds expensive.... lol.

haha. Paul deserves 1000bhp for the effort he's had to go through!

I shouldn't be too far off you on power/weight BumbleBee man :p

No mate, you shouldn't be to be fair, the one thing that will be interesting will be the traction aspect. That K04 Hybrid produces some almighty torque from low RPM, a very impressive turbo to be fair. I hope it does you well.

I'm hoping I get enough torque to just spin the wheels up and stop the box from blowing up again :p

I'm most definitely going to need back to back rides in Bumble and Tuftys when I'm up your way, so I can make an independant assessment :p

Then when I bin mine on track, I'll reshell into an s3 :D

Hope it's something simple for you dude!

is that why tufty needs more power than you? just to balance out the power:weight? haha. I'd never thought of that, makes sense now though!

Also, how did I miss all the above randomness, how come it took Katy Perry so long to realise what a Moron she married? :D

I only didn't like him because he got to ruin my dream bird.... I watched Arthur the other day and thought it was quality.

I hope she chooses to do a Playboy shoot sometime soon before the almighty pair drop.

Taking things apart rocks.
I enjoy it more than sex...........Thats not healthy is it? lol

you know what you need,.......katherine Jenkins.

Balls Deep in her squishy parts.

This is an almighty derail!
A bit back on track, but il include some women....
Prawn what sort of power:weight do you think youl have or want (including Katy perry tied to your roll cage legs apart)

And welly whats your power:weight? Including Jenkins in the back seat (minus the weight of clothes. OBVIOUSLY)

What sort of modern sports cars will they compare to?

S3's kerb weight is 1423 KG. A3's kerb weight is 1310 KG.

I'm at 288.83 BHP/Tonne.

Here are some interesting figures:

911 993 Cab : 181 bhp per tonne
E36 M3 3.0lt : 193 bhp per tonne
E46 M3 : 220 bhp per tonne
E39 M5 : 230 bhp per tonne
WTCC S2000 : 234 bhp per tonne
E92 M3 : 244 bhp per tonne
Audi R8 V8 : 265 bhp per tonne
E46 M3 CSL : 266 bhp per tonne
911 997 GT3 : 297 bhp per tonne
E36 M3 Racer : 300 bhp per tonne
Ferrari 430 : 326 bhp per tonne
McLaren Merc SLR : 348 bhp per tonne
997 GT2 : 363 bhp per tonne
M3 GTR Racer : 430 bhp per tonne
MP4-12C 437 bhp per tonne
McLaren F1 : 501 bhp per tonne
Bugatti Veyron : 509 bhp per tonne
LMP2 : 533 bhp per tonne
Atom 300 : 600 bhp per tonne
Ducati 996 SPS : 626 bhp per tonne
LMP1 : 720 bhp per tonne
Ducati 999 : 768 bhp per tonne
Porsche 962 : 1138 bhp per tonne
F1 B194 Benetton 1166 bhp per tonne

Now I absolutely knobbed a R8 V8 a few weeks back, and whilst I do have more power to weight, it's also about the torque as well.

Prawn: at approx 1100kgs and 300hp = 272hp/tonne
Welly: at approx 1450kgs and 411hp = 283hp/tonne

Weights are approximate and does not take into account mince pies or hot blondes...

Boo... beaten to it lol... that'll teach me to get a coffee mid post lol

LOL, coffee is good mate, it will be worth it.

Basically, the long and short of it for me is that nothing I have found on the road has won, especially since upping another ~40 BHP.

The closest was a Evo Lancer 2005 MRFQ 400. Having said that, they are in with a P2W ratio of 269 BHP/tonne

but to be honest bhp per ton means nothing once you've reached a certain speed, it's aerodynamics that counts, my bike tops out at about 190 max (i've had 186 out of it), there are many cars with a much lower bhp per ton rating that will go on to see 210+ mph

i would imagine wellys car could possibly hit a top speed of around 170/180, where as cars with less power / bhp per ton could do more thanks to their aerodynamics

the s3 gets whacked by a lot of air at that speed, not really sure how much drag it has when compared to other high bhp cars?

i would have thought the drag coefficient of a bike + biker is less than most cars. and the main reason for the difference in top speeds given less power:weight, is the power and torque figures.

i mean for example. your B5 RS4 - its limiter, i bet that gets very close to what you've acheived on your bike. and its clear to see its less aerodynamic. its the power and torque that takes it there, overcomes the aerodynamic drag.

Nah bikes ain't brilliant for high speeds, think my r1 would do 170, but has probably over double bhp/tonne. When you get to 160... You really do require the power. Bhp/tonne doesn't mean anything at massive speeds

LOL at the de-rail, i used to think bikes were more aerodynamic but sadly they are not, i know it sounds stupid but the RS4 is actually a lot more aerodynamic than my 1098, i think a lot of it is down to what happens when the rider gets on

im sure the rs4 has a similar top speed to my 1098 which proves power to weight ratio only really matters at lower speed

i promise you that wellys car will leave prawns for dust once they are above 100, it would destroy it

I fully expect that to be the case!
I know we all bang on about power:weight, but truth is, it's not the all powerful figure we hope for.

My mini for example, has 200bhp/ton, more than an e36 m3. However, it's nowhere near as quick in any way! Despite what the power:weight might suggest

wellys will leave prawns Period!

411bhp and 4wd to make use of it (when haldex is working)

You'd notice a lot more at higher speed was what i was trying to say, below 100 it'll beat it, above 100 it'll destroy it

badgerwagen - 1000kg ish... i think.. and the wrong side of 600bhp (on its previous gt35, now replaced by a hybrid gt35)
6th gear wheelspin before.. pointless power on road tyres..
power to weight is one thing, power to traction is another..

Ahh how i wish i could boast about power to weight i have, what is the power to weight on a standard a3 1.8t? Im guesing about 120per ton? (no maths used there btw) so lets keep this thread going, i think the price of tea in china is getting silly :)

Let's derail the thread some more...

Bill, whats it like trying to race a fwd 600odd HP car, surely there comes a point where 4wd would be able to utilise that power more of the time?
Or do you win the races anyway so it doesn't matter lol
